The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation has announced a 10 per cent reduction in water supply across its jurisdiction and parts of the CIDCO node from May 25 due to declining water levels in the Morbe dam reservoir. The civic body said the move was taken as a precautionary step following forecasts of deficient monsoon conditions linked to El Niño and the Indian Ocean Dipole (IOD). Evening water supply will remain suspended twice a week in different nodes including Belapur, Nerul, Vashi, Ghansoli and Airoli. Airports Economic Regulatory Authority has fixed a User Development Fee (UDF) of INR 620 for departing domestic passengers and INR 1,225 for international passengers at Navi Mumbai International Airport. The regulator issued the order ahead of the airport’s planned operational launch, approving the tariff structure proposed for the greenfield airport being developed by Navi Mumbai International Airport Ltd. The UDF will form part of the airport’s revenue framework to support infrastructure development and operational costs.
