The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has clarified that the online recruitment examinations under its Direct Recruitment 2025–26 drive will be conducted as scheduled on July 21 and 22 despite an earlier resolution passed by the General Body seeking a temporary suspension of the recruitment process. The civic body received 19,220 applications for 132 vacancies across Group A, Group B and Group C cadres. The examinations will be conducted by TCS iON across 13 centres in six districts. NMMC has put in place extensive administrative and security measures, including the appointment of coordination officers and observers, police deployment and mobile jammers, while urging candidates to rely only on official sources for recruitment-related information.
The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has announced that the online competitive examinations under its Direct Recruitment 2025–26 process will be conducted as scheduled on July 21 and 22. The clarification follows confusion arising from an earlier resolution passed by the corporation's General Body, with the civic administration confirming that the examination schedule remains unchanged after the state government suspended the implementation of the resolution.
According to NMMC, a total of 19,220 applications have been received for 132 vacancies across six cadres. The recruitment drive includes 15 Group A posts, three Group B posts and two Group C posts. The objective-type online examinations for the six cadres will be conducted by TCS iON at 13 examination centres spread across six districts.
To ensure that the recruitment process is conducted in a transparent and systematic manner, the municipal corporation has appointed eight coordination officers and 13 observers to oversee examination arrangements across all districts. In addition, adequate police security has been deployed at examination centres to maintain law and order during the recruitment process.
The civic body has also introduced additional security measures to safeguard the integrity of the examinations. With the approval of the Central Government's security department, mobile signal jammers have been installed in examination halls at all centres to prevent the use of unauthorised communication devices during the tests.
NMMC stated that its General Body had earlier resolved that the ongoing recruitment process should be kept in abeyance until a new recruitment rulebook for the municipal corporation received approval. However, to ensure that candidates appearing for the examinations were not adversely affected, the state government suspended the implementation of that decision, allowing the recruitment process to continue as originally planned.
The municipal corporation has therefore advised all eligible candidates to appear for the examinations on the notified dates and times, emphasising that there has been no change to the examination schedule.
Municipal Commissioner Dr Kailas Shinde stated that the recruitment process is being conducted through a rigorous and transparent system. He appealed to candidates not to rely on rumours or misleading information regarding the recruitment drive and advised them to refer only to the official NMMC website and the corporation's verified social media platforms for authentic updates and announcements related to the examinations.
