YKK India, the Indian subsidiary of Japan-based YKK Corporation, will invest USD 150 million to establish a new manufacturing facility at Origins by Mahindra, an integrated industrial township near Chennai. The proposed plant, spread across approximately 149,936 square metres, will become YKK India's third manufacturing unit in the country and is expected to be completed by February 2028. The development marks a significant industrial investment within the 600-acre industrial cluster being developed through a joint venture between Mahindra World City Developers Ltd and Sumitomo Corporation of Japan. (TRIL) has announced that Intellion Park Chennai, formerly known as Ramanujan IT Park, has achieved WELL Core Platinum certification across all its buildings from the International WELL Building Institute (IWBI). The certification makes it India’s largest WELL Core Platinum-certified campus and among the largest globally to secure WELL certification across an entire multi-building office development. The commercial campus has also been recognised as India’s first IFC EDGE Zero Carbon-certified development. The achievement comes amid increasing demand from global capability centres (GCCs) and multinational corporations for office spaces that meet international sustainability, wellness and environmental, social and governance (ESG) standards. Chennai-based civic organisation Arappor Iyakkam has urged Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin to revoke approvals granted for a residential project being developed by Brigade Enterprises near the Pallikaranai marshland, alleging that the project site falls within the ecologically sensitive wetland area. The organisation has claimed that environmental and planning clearances were granted in violation of wetland protection norms and has sought immediate intervention from the state government. The issue relates to the Brigade Morgan Heights housing project in Perumbakkam, Chennai, for which the NGO alleges approvals were issued despite the site's proximity to the Pallikaranai Ramsar wetland. Chennai-based residential developer Casagrand Premier Builder has received approval from the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) to launch its proposed INR 1,220 crore initial public offering (IPO). The offering comprises a fresh issue of equity shares worth INR 1,200 crore and an offer for sale of up to INR 20 crore by promoter entities. The company had filed its draft red herring prospectus in December 2025 and received SEBI’s observations on June 8, clearing the way for the public issue. A substantial portion of the proceeds will be utilised for debt reduction at both the company and subsidiary levels.
