The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has extended the booking deadline for flats under its Towering Heights Housing Scheme in Karkardooma, East Delhi, until June 30, offering additional time to both individual homebuyers and government agencies interested in bulk purchases. The extension follows earlier revisions to the booking schedule and comes as DDA continues to market one of the capital’s most prominent residential developments. Developed under the supervision of NBCC, the project comprises a 48-storey residential tower rising 155 metres, making it Delhi’s tallest residential building. The Centre’s PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana has crossed 41 lakh beneficiary households, with the government aiming to reach 75 lakh rooftop solar-powered homes by the end of 2026. Union New and Renewable Energy Minister Pralhad Joshi said more than 65 lakh applications are currently under process, reflecting strong adoption of residential solar energy across the country. Launched in February 2024 with an outlay of INR 75,021 crore, the scheme provides subsidies for rooftop solar installations and offers households up to 300 units of free electricity each month. The programme has also recorded substantial growth in rooftop solar deployment on government buildings, with over 53,000 structures already solarised and 855 MW of cumulative installed capacity achieved.Read more

MHADA will begin handing over 500 redeveloped homes to eligible residents of the Naigaon BDD Chawl project in Mumbai from 6 June.
