DDA extends Towering Heights booking deadline to June 30

Synopsis

The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has extended the booking deadline for flats under its Towering Heights Housing Scheme in Karkardooma, East Delhi, until June 30, offering additional time to both individual homebuyers and government agencies interested in bulk purchases. The extension follows earlier revisions to the booking schedule and comes as DDA continues to market one of the capital’s most prominent residential developments. Developed under the supervision of NBCC, the project comprises a 48-storey residential tower rising 155 metres, making it Delhi’s tallest residential building. The scheme is also the first housing project to be developed under the city’s Transit Oriented Development (TOD) policy, aimed at promoting high-density housing around public transport infrastructure.

The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has extended the booking period for its Towering Heights Housing Scheme in Karkardooma, East Delhi, until June 30, providing prospective buyers and government institutions with additional time to secure apartments in the high-rise residential project. The decision was announced through an official order issued this week and marks the latest extension granted under the scheme. 
The booking deadline was initially scheduled to close at the end of March before being extended to the end of May. With the latest revision, applicants will now be able to book flats until June 30. According to the authority’s order, the extension is intended to provide another opportunity for individual purchasers as well as government agencies considering bulk acquisition of the available housing stock. 
Towering Heights is among DDA’s flagship residential developments and has been constructed in Karkardooma, a key residential and commercial district in East Delhi. The project has been developed under the project management supervision of the state-owned construction firm NBCC (India) Limited and is positioned as a premium housing offering within the capital’s residential market. 
A defining feature of the development is its 48-storey tower, which rises approximately 155 metres and is recognised as Delhi’s tallest residential building. The project is also significant from a planning perspective, as it is the first residential development in the city to be implemented under Delhi’s Transit Oriented Development (TOD) policy. The policy seeks to encourage compact, high-density urban development around mass transit corridors, thereby improving connectivity and reducing dependence on private vehicles. 
The extension comes amid DDA’s broader efforts to increase participation in its housing programmes and facilitate sales across multiple residential schemes. Information published by the authority indicates that the Towering Heights scheme remains one of several housing initiatives currently being offered through its online portal. The authority formally notified the extension on June 4 through a circular published on its website. 
Earlier extensions related to the project had also been granted to accommodate administrative processes and provide flexibility to applicants. Industry observers note that the additional booking window could help attract buyers seeking ready-to-move-in housing options in East Delhi, particularly given the project’s location, vertical scale and connectivity advantages under the TOD framework. However, DDA has maintained that the extension is primarily aimed at allowing more eligible buyers and institutional purchasers to participate in the scheme before bookings close at the end of the month.
