Union Minister H D Kumaraswamy has urged Karnataka Chief Minister D K Shivakumar to take over the Bengaluru-Mysuru Infrastructure Corridor Project (BMICP), implemented by Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprises (NICE), and immediately stop toll collection on the roads. In a seven-page letter sent to Shivakumar on August 15, Kumaraswamy cited observations made by the Karnataka High Court regarding alleged irregularities in the project’s implementation and sought corrective action by the state government. NICE currently operates a 41-kilometre peripheral road and a 10-kilometre link road in Bengaluru, on which tolls are collected. Kumaraswamy has also called for legislation to formally take over the project, citing alleged violations of the Framework Agreement and Project Technical Agreement. The Chief Minister said the government would examine the matter and act in accordance with the law.Read more

Bengaluru-based flexible workspace operator IndiQube Spaces reported a consolidated net loss of INR 23.88 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, narrowing from INR 36.75 crore in the corresponding period a year earlier. Total income increased to INR 448.81 crore during the first quarter of FY27 from INR 324.12 crore in the year-ago period, according to a regulatory filing. However, total expenses also rose, reaching INR 479.32 crore from INR 374.08 crore. IndiQube operates a nationwide network of 137 coworking centres across 17 cities and has 10.61 million sq ft of area under management. Bengaluru-based EV charging infrastructure company Bolt.Earth’s Blaze DC 3kW Dual Gun Charger has received certification from the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI), validating its compliance with applicable safety and performance standards. The company said the charger is the world’s first universal fast charger for electric two- and three-wheelers to receive the certification. Designed for individual users as well as commercial fleets, the charger can provide up to 40 km of range in 15 minutes. The Railway Board has given in-principle approval for the Communications-Based Train Control (CBTC) signalling and train control system for Bengaluru Metro’s Pink Line and the entire Blue Line under Phase 2A and 2B up to Kempegowda International Airport. The approval is an important step towards commissioning the Pink Line’s first operational section between Kalena Agrahara and Tavarekere. Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited has been following up with the Railway Board and Research Designs and Standards Organisation to complete the approval process. Sumadhura Group plans to invest around INR 2,000 crore to develop a residential project in Bengaluru’s Whitefield-Kannamangala Corridor. The Bengaluru-based developer has signed a Joint Development Agreement with a landowner for the 17-acre project, which will have around 2.5 million square feet of saleable area. The Bangalore Hotels Association (BHA) has warned that hotels affiliated with it and other hospitality bodies in Bengaluru will suspend business with Swiggy from August 15 if the company does not address concerns related to payment transparency, unauthorised deductions and advertising charges. The association has sought a transparent payout system, clear disclosure of all charges and consent-based advertising deductions.
