Juniper Green Energy has commissioned 305 MWp of renewable energy capacity across multiple districts in Gujarat under power purchase agreements signed with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd (GUVNL). The portfolio comprises 183 MWp of solar capacity and 122 MW of wind capacity, spread across Surendranagar, Aravalli, Devbhumi Dwarka and adjoining areas. Several projects were completed ahead of their scheduled commercial operation dates, including hybrid solar installations commissioned up to 148 days in advance. The development strengthens the company’s renewable energy presence in Gujarat and supports the state’s growing clean energy generation capacity through a mix of solar, wind and hybrid projects.Read more

The CSIR-Central Road Research Institute (CSIR-CRRI), New Delhi, signed a Memorandum of Agreement with the Government of Haryana on 8 June 2026 to implement a structured framework for paving and greening of urban roads across the state. The project, developed under the Commission for Air Quality Management's guidance and jointly executed with the School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi, directly targets road dust a primary contributor to particulate pollution in the National Capital Region. Thousands of farmers from Raigad district have intensified their opposition to the proposed Karnala-Sai-Chirner New Town project widely referred to as Third Mumbai with a large convention held in Uran reaffirming their resolve to resist land acquisition. The protest, organised by the KSC New Town Project Opposition Committee, comes after MMRDA formally initiated land acquisition procedures across 124 villages in the Uran, Panvel, and Pen talukas of Raigad, following a state government resolution issued in March 2026. Villagers allege inadequate consultation, threat to agrarian livelihoods, and legal bypassing of the Land Acquisition Act, 2013.Read more
