Tenants in several high-rise residential societies in Noida are being asked to pay additional monthly charges to use common amenities such as swimming pools, gyms and clubhouses, despite paying regular maintenance fees. Resident Welfare Associations say the charges are intended to regulate access, protect equipment and meet security and upkeep costs. Tenants argue that they are legal occupants and should have access to common facilities on the same terms as homeowners. Reported charges range from INR 500 to INR 1,000 a month in some societies. The Noida Authority has said such decisions are often arbitrary and that it currently lacks specific regulations to intervene.Read more

The Noida–Greater Noida Expressway is evolving from a key transport corridor into a residential market supported by expanding infrastructure, public transport and new housing development. Redrose Vanijya LLP, a firm associated with Riju Jhunjhunwala of the LNJ Bhilwara Group, has purchased a 10,000 sq ft luxury apartment in a recently launched Max Group project in Noida for INR 37 crore. The transaction is understood to be the most expensive single-apartment sale reported in the city so far. A flat owner in Greater Noida has secured the car parking space that had been denied to him after an eight-year legal dispute with the developer. The consumer court ruled in the homebuyer’s favour in two stages, ultimately directing the developer to fulfil its commitment to provide the parking facility. The dispute arose after the promised parking space was not provided to the resident despite his purchase of the flat. The developer challenged an earlier consumer court ruling, extending the matter into a prolonged legal battle. The latest decision has now upheld the homebuyer’s claim and recognised the developer’s failure to provide the promised facility as a deficiency in service. The proposed Yamuna Pushta elevated expressway in the Noida region has been extended from 31 km to around 50 km, with the revised alignment taking the corridor closer to Noida International Airport in Jewar. Estimated to cost about INR 4,000 crore, the eight-lane project will begin near Sector 94 in Noida and extend through Greater Noida and the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority area towards Sector 23C. The corridor is planned as an alternative to the congested Noida Expressway and is expected to provide an additional route towards the airport as passenger and regional traffic increases.Read more

Air India SATS Airport Services Private Limited (AISATS) has entered into an initial agreement with Concor Air Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Container Corporation of India, to facilitate faster movement of customs-cleared cargo from the Inland Container Depot (ICD) at Dadri to Noida International Airport (NIA). The arrangement will connect inland freight networks with AISATS’ Integrated Cargo Terminal at NIA for onward international dispatch. Larsen & Toubro has been selected to execute the civil construction works for extensions of the Noida Metro’s Aqua Line, strengthening the rapid transit network across Noida and Greater Noida. Suraksha Group has completed construction of 7,913 apartments across 84 residential towers at Jaypee Wish Town in Noida, marking significant progress since taking over Jaypee Infratech through the insolvency process. The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has directed the Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board (UPPCB) to verify allegations that construction activity is continuing at certain projects in Greater Noida despite closure orders issued for environmental violations. During a hearing held in the past week, the tribunal also granted the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) four weeks to submit a comprehensive report identifying projects allegedly violating environmental norms. The matter relates to an application alleging that several developments are proceeding without mandatory environmental clearances and statutory consents under environmental regulations. Faalcon Concepts Ltd has secured a work order worth INR 101.93 crore from Splendor Information Technology Pvt Ltd for façade works at the Splendor ONYX commercial development in Sector 142, Noida. The order is valued at more than three times the company's standalone FY26 revenue and is expected to strengthen revenue visibility over the execution period. The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has directed the Uttar Pradesh Ground Water Department to examine allegations of illegal groundwater extraction at multiple construction sites in Noida and Greater Noida and initiate action where violations are found. The order, passed in the past week, follows a petition alleging unauthorised dewatering and groundwater abstraction by private builders, industries and individuals across several sectors, including Noida and the Yamuna Expressway region. The tribunal has instructed the department to conduct field verification, determine whether borewells or tube wells are operating without approval, and take remedial as well as punitive action in accordance with law. The exercise is to be completed within three months as concerns over declining groundwater levels continue in the rapidly urbanising region.Read more
