NHAI approves INR 1,428 crore Thiruvarur bypass project on NH-83 in Tamil Nadu

• The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has approved an INR 1,427.61 crore project for a four-lane Thiruvarur bypass in Tamil Nadu.
• The 14.9-km bypass will be developed on the Nagapattinam–Thanjavur section of NH-83 along with two additional road over bridges.
• The project aims to reduce traffic congestion inside Thiruvarur town and improve freight movement across central and coastal Tamil Nadu.

Navi Mumbai civic body announces 10% water cut amid falling Morbe dam levels

The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation has announced a 10 per cent reduction in water supply across its jurisdiction and parts of the CIDCO node from May 25 due to declining water levels in the Morbe dam reservoir. The civic body said the move was taken as a precautionary step following forecasts of deficient monsoon conditions linked to El Niño and the Indian Ocean Dipole (IOD). Evening water supply will remain suspended twice a week in different nodes including Belapur, Nerul, Vashi, Ghansoli and Airoli.
