Advanced materials will be used to improve durability and reduce road dust pollution. Bengaluru Smart Infrastructure Ltd (B-SMILE) has invited bids for consultancy services to accelerate five elevated road projects spanning almost 80km. The corridors are planned to improve east-west and north-south connectivity while diverting through traffic from congested city roads. Titagarh Rail Systems has won an INR 273.24 crore contract from Indian Railways for 62 Rail Borne Maintenance Vehicles (RBMVs), covering design, manufacturing, supply, testing, commissioning, and full lifecycle maintenance. The project also includes training Indian Railways staff and providing servicing and breakdown support. Deliveries are expected to start within 15 months and conclude within 48 months. This marks Titagarh Rail's entry into safety-critical, technology-intensive rail maintenance, complementing its existing rolling stock business and supporting Indian Railways broader modernisation and mechanisation initiatives.Read more

Residents along the Vamanjoor & Moodbidri stretch of NH 169 have urged the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) to redesign service roads that are disrupting local movement. Elevated service roads, meant to separate highway traffic from local traffic, are blocking small crossroads, PWD links, and access to homes and shops. Steep slopes and soil accumulation have created additional obstacles, affecting relocated shops and daily commuters.
