The Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) has designated five major roads along the city's East-West Metro line as Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) corridors. The areas within approximately 800 metres of metro stations are now earmarked for mixed land use, allowing residential, commercial, and industrial development under the state's newly announced TOD policy. This initiative is aimed at promoting sustainable urban growth, reducing traffic congestion, and improving connectivity. The corridors span key junctions including Veer Tejaji Circle, Pandit T.N. The Capital Region Development Authority has approved investments of over INR 1,300 crore for developing layouts and strengthening core infrastructure in Amaravati. Indian Railways has identified 2,670 road-under-bridges (RUBs) vulnerable to waterlogging out of 14,745 subways nationwide following a zone-wise assessment. The issue was raised in Parliament after concerns over frequent flooding at subways, including those in Tirupati. Permanent preventive infrastructure has been completed at 1,351 locations, while temporary dewatering arrangements are operational at the remaining sites. The Railways is also coordinating with local bodies on drainage and deploying on-ground staff to monitor vulnerable subways during rainfall.Read more

Around 40 lakh FASTag annual passes for private vehicles have been issued since the scheme was introduced a few months ago, showing strong adoption among frequent highway users. The Prime Minister has inaugurated the new terminal building at Lokapriya Gopinath Bardoloi International Airport in Guwahati, developed at a cost of around INR 4,000 crore as part of a broader INR 5,000 crore airport expansion programme. Designed as a nature-themed terminal, the facility reflects Assam's biodiversity and cultural heritage, with extensive use of greenery and bamboo-inspired elements. Amber Enterprises has announced plans to invest INR 500 crore in setting up a new research and development centre in Rajpura, Punjab. The facility will focus on HVAC research and design and will be developed in two phases. Construction is expected to begin in January or February this year.
