Hyderabad-based real estate developer ASBL has launched its latest residential project, ASBL Legacy, at RTC X Roads in Hyderabad. Spread across approximately 7.97 acres, the project will comprise three towers of G+50 floors and is expected to be completed by June 2031. The company has already received RERA registration and plans to begin bookings by the end of September. ASBL said it will invest INR 1,800 crore in construction over the next five years, in addition to the INR 400 crore already invested in the land. Unauthorised construction continues to pose a challenge for Hyderabad's civic authorities, with thousands of violations and complaints pending across the city's municipal jurisdictions. The absence of a dedicated municipal building tribunal has added to the difficulty of handling disputes and enforcement cases efficiently. The Telangana High Court had earlier suggested creating a specialised forum to deal with building permission, illegal construction and demolition matters. Despite proposals to operationalise such a tribunal, the mechanism remains unavailable. The continuing gap has raised concerns over enforcement, case backlogs and the growth of unauthorised structures across Hyderabad.Read more

More than 800 buildings have been identified as unauthorised across the Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) area following a citywide inspection drive launched after the Gachibowli building collapse. The Kukatpally zone accounts for the largest share of the structures flagged by officials, while other zones have also reported significant violations. Authorities are examining buildings constructed without required permissions or in breach of sanctioned plans, with demolition action initiated against several under-construction structures. The exercise has intensified scrutiny of building approvals and construction practices across the rapidly developing western parts of Hyderabad.Read more

Hyderabad’s Raidurg Panmaktha, now part of the Knowledge City corridor, has emerged as a major revenue generator for Telangana, with government land auctions bringing more than INR 10,000 crore into the state exchequer over the past two decades. Nearly INR 8,000 crore has been realised in the last two-and-a-half years as demand for premium land accelerated. The latest auction of a 5.25-acre plot fetched INR 1,386 crore, or INR 264 crore per acre, setting a new benchmark. A 5.25-acre land parcel in Hyderabad’s Raidurg area has fetched a record INR 264 crore per acre in an e-auction conducted by the Telangana Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TGIIC). The Plot P1 parcel in Survey No. 83/1, located in the Knowledge City layout at Raidurg Panmaktha, generated around INR 1,386 crore. The winning bid was 50.9% above the reserve price of INR 175 crore per acre and surpassed the previous record of INR 237 crore per acre achieved in the same corridor earlier this year.Read more

Amazon Web Services (AWS) plans to open an AWS Builder Loft in Hyderabad as part of its global expansion of permanent community spaces for developers and technology professionals. Hyderabad will be among three new locations, alongside Berlin and São Paulo. The spaces will offer free workshops, networking events, pitch nights, content creation facilities and collaboration areas. The Hyderabad facility will focus on helping Indian developers build skills in artificial intelligence and cloud-native technologies while connecting with other professionals. Hyderabad-based Active.in is targeting a turnover of INR 250 crore in financial year 2026-27, following revenue of INR 187 crore in the previous financial year. The company plans to add 15 franchise outlets across South India and Bhubaneswar over the next 12–18 months as it expands its reach across residential, commercial and infrastructure markets. Its expansion plans include a new showroom in Bengaluru and a manufacturing facility in Karnataka. Hundreds of properties in Hyderabad’s Jubilee Hills and Banjara Hills have been included in Telangana’s prohibited properties list under Section 22-A of the Registration Act, restricting owners from registering, selling or transferring their holdings. The inclusion forms part of a wider revision of prohibited-property records following directions from the Telangana High Court and has affected established residential plots, houses, apartments and housing societies. Owners have questioned the classification of properties with longstanding ownership and registration records. Cloudangles, a California-headquartered deep-tech and enterprise technology company, has opened a Global Engineering Centre (GEC) in Hyderabad as part of its plans to expand its engineering and technology capabilities. The centre, which became operational earlier this week, is expected to scale to 1,000 engineers over the next two years. Its operations will cover application development, engineering, data and analytics, artificial intelligence, automation, digital productivity, innovation and corporate systems. Global biotechnology company Amgen is set to establish a new Science and Innovation Center at Genome Valley in Hyderabad, expanding its research and development presence in India. The company has signed an MoU with the Telangana government for the proposed centre, which is expected to become operational in 2027. The facility will be part of Amgen’s global R&D network of seven research laboratories and will bring together scientists and technologists working in discovery chemistry, drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics, and precision medicine. Iconic by One Vision has launched a 586.14 sq m digital out-of-home (DOOH) display at SAS iTower in Nanakramguda, Hyderabad, which the company describes as India’s largest cinematic digital screen and the city’s first 8K DOOH display. The L-shaped installation uses Absen A25 series LED panels and supports deep-perspective anamorphic content that produces three-dimensional visual effects without glasses. The launch expands the company’s presence to six cities, following operations in Bengaluru, Bhopal, Jaipur, Thiruvananthapuram and Bhubaneswar. Founded by Abhinav Reddy, the company plans to enter Gurugram by the end of 2026 and expand into additional states in 2027. Tribeca Developers and Ira Realty are jointly developing a Trump-branded luxury residential project in Hyderabad’s Kokapet with an overall investment of around INR 2,000 crore. Trump Towers Hyderabad will comprise two 65-storey towers with 450 apartments, including 16 penthouses, across 22 lakh square feet of developable area. The project marks the Trump brand’s first entry into South India and is expected to be completed within four years. JLL Business Services has opened a Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Hyderabad, strengthening its operations in India and adding to the city’s growing base of global capability centres. Telangana IT and Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu inaugurated the facility, which spans 1,20,000 square feet across two floors at Prestige Sky Tech in the Financial District. The centre is JLL Business Services’ second hub in India after Gurugram and is expected to create more than 1,600 high-skilled jobs over the next two years. The Appellate Tribunal under SAFEMA has disposed of appeals filed by actor K. Ramcharan Tej and former cricketer V. Chamundeshwarnath, along with two other purchasers, over villa plots in Hyderabad’s Boulder Hills that were attached in a money-laundering investigation. The tribunal found that the purchasers had paid substantial portions of the agreed consideration, but no sale deeds had been executed. However, it declined to conclusively determine whether they were bona fide purchasers or connected to the alleged wrongdoing. Their claims can now be examined by the PMLA trial court.Read more

GMR Hyderabad International Airport has started handling Emirates SkyCargo's dedicated Boeing 777 Freighter service on the Taipei–Hyderabad–Dubai route, strengthening its position as one of India's key air cargo hubs. The new service is expected to improve the movement of pharmaceuticals, electronics, semiconductors, perishables and other high-value shipments between East Asia, India and the Middle East. The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) has barred Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (ZEEL) from the securities market for two months and its Chairman Emeritus Subhash Chandra and Managing Director & CEO Punit Goenka for one year over the unauthorised pledge of the company's Hyderabad land to secure loans taken by promoter-linked Essel Group entities. In addition to the market restrictions, Sebi imposed cumulative penalties of INR 1.48 crore on the company and the two executives. The regulator found that ZEEL failed to obtain mandatory approvals and did not disclose the related-party transaction in its financial statements, despite senior management being aware that the property had been pledged as collateral.Read more

The Cyberabad Economic Offences Wing (EOW) has registered a case against a Hyderabad-based real estate developer and its directors over allegations of cheating homebuyers in a residential project at Puppalaguda. Investigators allege the firm collected around INR 24.88 crore from 56 purchasers without delivering the promised apartments or fulfilling commitments linked to the project. The case has been booked under provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and the agency has commenced an investigation into the financial transactions and project-related approvals.Read more

The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) has initiated the process to de-notify the Kokapet Information Technology Special Economic Zone (IT SEZ), a move that could unlock around 90 acres of prime land for public auction. Subject to approval from the Union Ministry of Commerce, the proposed auction is expected to generate nearly INR 12,000 crore. The land, located in Hyderabad's rapidly growing western corridor, has remained largely unused for years after the planned IT SEZ failed to take shape.
