Daman’s new civil airport is expected to become operational in June as authorities prepare to introduce commercial flight connectivity from the Union Territory. • Maharashtra Rail Infrastructure Development Corporation has completed the installation of all 40 stay cables for the under-construction Byculla Cable-Stayed Road Over Bridge in Mumbai.

State-owned Indian Railway Finance Corporation (IRFC) has signed an agreement with L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) Ltd to refinance the debt obligations of the Hyderabad Metro Rail project through a term loan of INR 13,527 crore. The company plans to disburse INR 13,500 crore by June 2026. This marks IRFC’s first financing deal in the metro rail segment and signals its entry into urban infrastructure funding beyond the railway sector. To support the transaction, IRFC has raised USD 1.1 billion through external commercial borrowings in Japanese Yen and is targeting overall fundraising of INR 70,000 crore during the current financial year.Read more

ACME Solar Holdings has signed a 25-year power purchase agreement with Solar Energy Corporation of India for a 300 MW/1,200 MWh ISTS-connected assured peak power project. The project was awarded under SECI’s FDRE Tranche-VII tender and will supply four hours of guaranteed electricity during non-solar hours. The company said the project will use its existing night-time grid connectivity in high irradiation zones. Following this agreement, ACME Solar’s PPA-signed portfolio has increased to 6,570 MW out of its total contracted capacity of 8,070 MW, strengthening its presence in the renewable energy and storage segment.Read more

MCGM has floated a tender for appointment of a triennial contractor to undertake conservation, cleaning, security and operational maintenance of monuments and heritage structures across Mumbai’s Fort Heritage Precinct. The scope covers restoration of fountains, statues, pyaavs, landscaping, electrical systems and round-the-clock security arrangements for key heritage assets including Flora Fountain and Fitzgerald Fountain.
