Synopsis

HFCL has secured an export order worth approximately USD 51.98 million (INR 495.8 crore) from an international data centre company to supply optical fibre cable-based connectivity solutions. The contract, awarded through the company's overseas wholly owned material subsidiary, is scheduled for execution by December 2026. The order follows HFCL's recent launch of its OptiQ AI data centre solutions portfolio and comes as the company expands its optical fibre manufacturing capacity. HFCL also reported a record order book of INR 13,483 crore for its Optical Fibre Cable (OFC) business during the previous financial year, reflecting growing demand for fibre connectivity infrastructure.

Domestic telecom equipment manufacturer HFCL has secured an export order worth approximately USD 51.98 million (INR 495.8 crore) from an international data centre company for the supply of optical fibre cable-based data centre connectivity solutions. The company disclosed the development in a regulatory filing earlier this week.
According to HFCL, the order has been awarded through its overseas wholly owned material subsidiary and is scheduled to be executed by December 2026. While the company did not disclose the identity of the customer, it described the client as a renowned international data centre operator.
The contract covers the supply of optical fibre cable (OFC)-based connectivity solutions, reflecting increasing global demand for high-capacity digital infrastructure to support the expansion of data centres and cloud computing services.
The order comes shortly after HFCL introduced its data centre solutions portfolio, branded as OptiQ AI, which is designed to provide integrated connectivity solutions for modern data centre infrastructure. The company has been expanding its product offerings to address growing requirements for high-speed, reliable fibre networks across domestic and international markets.
To support anticipated demand, HFCL has also announced plans to expand its manufacturing capacity for optical fibre cables. The company is increasing its fibre optic cable production capacity from 39 million fibre-route kilometres (rkm) per annum to 45 million fibre-route kilometres annually.
In addition, HFCL is expanding its optical fibre manufacturing capacity from 30 million fibre-route kilometres to 40 million fibre-route kilometres per year. The capacity enhancement is intended to strengthen the company's ability to meet rising demand from telecom operators, digital infrastructure developers and hyperscale data centre projects.
HFCL stated that its Optical Fibre Cable business recorded its highest-ever order book during the previous financial year, with outstanding orders valued at INR 13,483 crore. The company attributed the growth to increasing investments in broadband infrastructure, fibre network expansion and data centre connectivity across multiple markets.
The latest export order further strengthens HFCL's international business portfolio and aligns with its strategy of expanding its presence in global digital infrastructure projects through advanced optical fibre connectivity solutions.
