NHPC moves ahead with Uri-I Stage-II hydropower expansion

NHPC has commenced construction activities for the 240 MW Uri-I Stage-II Hydroelectric Project in Uri, Baramulla district, Jammu & Kashmir. The project, approved at an investment of INR 2,708.95 crore, is being developed on the Jhelum River as an extension of the existing Uri-I scheme. Work began with the first blast for the head race tunnel in the past week.
