The Maharashtra government has revived the Shaktipeeth Highway project, previously stalled due to land acquisition protests. The INR 80,000-crore project will connect Nagpur to Goa via an 802-kilometre route, passing through 11 districts. During a recent meeting, Fadnavis emphasised the project's economic, tourism, and connectivity benefits, urging expedited implementation. He also directed timely completion of other key infrastructure, including stretches on the Mumbai-Nagpur Samruddhi Expressway and Mumbai-Pune Expressway. The Goa government is in the process of planning a metro train system and has already prepared a proposal, with discussions underway with Indian Railways and central authorities.
