At a real estate conference, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu outlined his vision for revitalizing the state's real estate sector. Emphasizing the need for a robust construction policy, Naidu tasked Municipal Minister P. Narayana with drafting India's best real estate framework. The plan includes a streamlined permit dashboard, deemed approvals for delayed applications, and adopting successful policies from other regions. Naidu also urged developers to avoid unauthorized construction and integrate technologies like AI for efficiency. In a recent address at a real estate conference, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu expressed his vision for a significant revival in the state's real estate sector. Naidu's comments come at a time when the real estate and construction sectors have faced challenges, particularly during the tenure of the YSR Congress Party from 2019 to 2024. He acknowledged these difficulties and stated that Narayana would engage with industry stakeholders to streamline regulations. The Chief Minister underscored the importance of making Andhra Pradesh a favorable destination for real estate investment, suggesting that the state should adopt and learn from successful policies implemented in other regions.
To facilitate this transformation, Naidu announced plans to introduce a comprehensive dashboard within two months. This tool aims to set clear timelines for obtaining necessary permits, ensuring that construction projects can progress without unnecessary delays. He also mentioned the possibility of granting deemed permissions if the established timelines are not met, a move intended to reduce bureaucratic hurdles that have historically plagued the industry.
In addition to policy changes, Naidu called for a shift in the mindset of real estate developers. He urged them to avoid unauthorized constructions and to report any illegal activities to the government. This call for self-discipline is part of a broader strategy to ensure that the construction industry operates within legal frameworks, which he believes is essential for sustainable growth.
Furthermore, Naidu highlighted the potential of emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), in enhancing decision-making and improving efficiency in the construction sector. He encouraged industry players to integrate these technologies into their operations to stay competitive and innovative.
The Chief Minister also expressed a commitment to developing smaller towns like Kurnool and Nellore, aiming to elevate their status alongside major cities. He believes that urban development should not be limited to large metropolitan areas but should also focus on improving infrastructure and amenities in smaller cities.
As Andhra Pradesh seeks to revive its real estate sector, the government's proactive approach and willingness to adapt to industry needs may play a crucial role in shaping the future of construction in the state. The upcoming policy changes and emphasis on technology adoption could position Andhra Pradesh as a leader in the real estate market, attracting both national and international investors.
