The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has allotted 549 developed residential plots to farmers and landowners who contributed land under the land pooling policy for the IT City project along Sultanpur Road in Lucknow. The allotment was conducted through a lottery draw held earlier this week at the Indira Gandhi Pratishthan. The plots, located across sectors 15, 16, 17, 18 and 30 of the planned township, were distributed in six size categories ranging from 35 sq m to 288 sq m. Around 350 landowners had pooled approximately 550 acres of land for the project, which is being developed over about 3,490 acres across villages in Mohanlalganj tehsil. The Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (UP-RERA) has imposed penalties totalling more than INR 2.43 crore on two Lucknow-based real estate promoters for failing to upload mandatory quarterly progress reports (QPRs) on the regulator's online portal. The action relates to the Arpita Infinity and Ganpati Smart City projects, both of which did not update required project information despite repeated notices from the authority. Under the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016 and the state RERA rules, promoters must submit quarterly updates on project progress, approvals, bookings and construction status within a stipulated timeframe. UP-RERA said the penalties represent up to five per cent of the respective project costs and directed both promoters to deposit the fines and update pending disclosures within 15 days, reinforcing regulatory oversight and transparency in project reporting.Read more

The Uttar Pradesh government will conduct a lottery on 28 February for the allotment of plots in the forthcoming Lucknow IT City, an integrated technology and business district being developed on the Agra�Lucknow Expressway corridor. Uttar Pradesh officials said that applications were received under two categories � IT/ITeS and allied services and commercial & hospitality � and that the lottery will determine successful applicants among the eligible bidders. The plot sizes range from 2,487 sq m to over 4,000 sq m, with the largest parcel measuring 4,163 sq m. The initiative forms part of the state�s strategy to attract technology, business and service sector investments to the region, and will be overseen by relevant departments with transparency measures in place to ensure fairness in the allotment process. The Lucknow Metro has introduced a QR code-based ticketing system that allows commuters to book metro tickets through a mobile app and at stations, aiming to simplify travel and reduce queues. Launched at Hazratganj Metro Station by the Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) Managing Director, the system enables passengers to book tickets via the official Lucknow Metro Official mobile application on Android and iOS, or obtain printed QR tickets at ticket vending machines (TVMs) and counters across all stations. Once booked, tickets can be scanned at Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) gates marked with yellow strips for entry and exit. The Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation has awarded the first construction-related consultancy contract for the East-West Corridor of the Lucknow Metro under Phase 1B, marking a key step towards project implementation. The Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) is set to propose a major increase in licence fees for hotels, restaurants, nursing homes, hospitals, pathology labs, liquor outlets and other commercial units, with some categories expected to see charges rise by up to five times under a draft fee structure slated for approval on 27 January and implementation from the 1st of April next fiscal. The proposal, framed under the Municipal Corporation bye-laws, 2003, was initially approved by the civic body in 2025 and refined after a public feedback period. Fees for nursing homes and hospitals are likely to double, while hotels and restaurants could face a five-fold increase. Penalties for late renewals are also proposed.
