The agency has also arrested a retired seed manager for his alleged role in the case. According to investigators, the fraud involved the fraudulent sanction and disbursal of housing loans through forged documents and irregular approvals, allegedly with the involvement of multiple individuals, including bank officials and government employees. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has carried out searches at six locations across four states in connection with an alleged INR 1,109 crore bank fraud involving Bhubaneswar-based Gupta Power Infrastructure Ltd. The agency alleges that the company secured higher credit facilities from Canara Bank by manipulating financial records, inflating stock values and trade receivables, and diverting loan funds.
