Two contract workers lost their lives and another was hospitalised after a carbon dioxide (CO2) gas leak occurred during the annual maintenance of fire extinguishers at Schaeffler India Ltd’s manufacturing facility in Talegaon MIDC, Pune district, on June 10. Three contractor employees and two company staff members were involved in the maintenance activity when gas leaked from a fire extinguisher cylinder.
