• Maharashtra cabinet has approved the transfer of 52,851 sq metres of government land to Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) for the Mula-Mutha Riverfront Development Project.
• The transferred land parcels are located in Sangamwadi and Mundhwa and will help speed up pending riverfront development work.
• PMC is expected to save nearly INR 116.63 crore as the land will be handed over without occupancy and revenue charges.
• The riverfront project includes flood control, sewage treatment, river cleaning, public spaces, cycling tracks and green zone development across Pune riverbanks.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has summoned the chief administrator of the Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA) in connection with an alleged INR 150 crore money laundering investigation linked to change of land use (CLU) approvals granted to real estate projects in Mohali. The probe centres on alleged irregularities involving Suntec City and Altus Space Builders Pvt Ltd, with the agency seeking records related to approvals, financial transactions and officials involved in the process. The summons follows ED searches conducted across Mohali, Chandigarh and Patiala in the past week under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). Investigators are examining allegations that project approvals were obtained fraudulently and that homebuyers were misled regarding land permissions and delivery timelines in certain residential developments.Read more

The Amaravati Development Corporation has stepped up flood control and canal modernization works ahead of the monsoon season. ADC Chairperson and Managing Director D. Lakshmi Parthasarathy inspected key bridge and canal works linked to Kondaveeti Vagu and Palavagu across several parts of Amaravati. During the inspection, officials were instructed to prevent soil accumulation near bridge pillars and improve water flow capacity in vulnerable areas. Concerns were raised over incomplete excavation depth near the Western Bypass, following which ADC coordinated with National Highways officials for corrective measures. Canal modernization works in nearby villages are also being expedited to strengthen drainage infrastructure.Read more

The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority has completed a major phase of a foot over bridge project connecting Brahmand Junction and the Tikuji Ni Wadi Metro Station on Ghodbunder Road. Executed under difficult site conditions with an operational Metro viaduct overhead and heavy traffic movement below, the project involved the installation of four large steel girders measuring nearly 60 metres each. The operation required heavy-duty cranes, multi-axle carriers, and a team of over 60 engineers and workers. The authority said the work reflects the growing focus on integrated urban transport infrastructure and safer pedestrian connectivity in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.Read more

• City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) and Africa India Economic Foundation (AIEF) have signed an agreement to establish a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) for the proposed Africa India International Development Zone in Navi Mumbai.
• The project will be developed on a 20-acre land parcel within the International Corporate Park at Kharghar and aims to strengthen India-Africa trade and investment engagement.
• Under the approved structure, AIEF will hold a 74% stake in the SPV, while CIDCO will retain the remaining 26%.
• The proposed development will include office spaces for 54 African nations, a convention centre, cultural retail facilities and diplomatic infrastructure linked to trade and business engagement.
• Maharashtra government officials stated that the project is expected to become operational within five to six years and will benefit from proximity to the upcoming Navi Mumbai International Airport and JNPA port.Read more

• Himachal Pradesh Chief Secretary Sanjay Gupta has directed the State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau to investigate alleged irregularities linked to real estate projects registered under the state’s RERA framework.
• The investigation will examine Joint Development Agreement (JDA) projects and possible violations of Section 118 of the Himachal Pradesh Tenancy and Land Reforms Act, 1972, which restricts land purchases by non-agriculturists.
• Authorities have been given 15 days to submit relevant records and documents relating to project approvals, promoter financial capability assessments and land transactions.

The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has launched an e-auction for 149 residential plots located in Gomti Nagar Extension and Basant Kunj as part of a larger property sale exercise across Lucknow. Nearly 475 properties, including residential, group housing, institutional and commercial assets worth around INR 3,000 crore, have been put up for auction. The online bidding process will remain open till May 28. Plot sizes range from 25 square metres to 300 square metres, while the authority has also included land parcels for group housing projects and institutional development under its proposed Edu City initiative.Read more

• The Jharkhand government has launched an online portal to facilitate the regularisation of unauthorised residential buildings across urban areas of the state under the Jharkhand Unauthorised Constructed Building Regularisation Rules, 2026.
• The initiative was launched by Urban Development Minister Sudivya Kumar following Cabinet approval of the new regularisation rules in April this year.
• The scheme applies to residential buildings up to G+2 height and structures built on plots measuring up to 300 sq m, subject to prescribed penalties and conditions.
• Officials stated that nearly seven lakh property owners across Jharkhand could benefit from the regularisation framework, with applicants allowed to pay fees in three instalments.
• The state government said the move is intended to improve planned urban development, simplify approvals and provide relief to owners of existing constructions built without sanctioned plans.Read more

The Delhi government is considering a substantial increase in financial assistance for the maintenance and development of parks and gardens across the national capital, including a proposal to provide 100 per cent funding for eligible projects undertaken by RWAs, NGOs and registered societies. The proposal includes raising annual maintenance support from INR 2.55 lakh per acre to INR 3.8 lakh per acre and increasing one-time assistance for development of new parks from INR 1 lakh per acre to INR 2.9 lakh per acre. Additional grants of up to INR 2.5 lakh per acre have also been proposed for upgrading existing parks and civic amenities. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta stated that the initiative is aimed at strengthening Delhi’s green cover, improving urban environmental conditions and encouraging greater community participation in neighbourhood park management.Read more
