The Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) has issued a INR 492.22 crore tender for the design and construction of five elevated stations on Lucknow Metro's second corridor, marking the start of Phase 1B expansion. The elevated section will run approximately 4.6 km from Thakurganj to Vasantkunj, including a 740 metre ramp to the depot, covering civil, electrical, mechanical, and architectural works. The long-awaited missing link of the Pune-Mumbai Expressway is scheduled to open on May 1, improving connectivity between the two cities and reducing travel time by about 30 minutes. Developed by the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC), the 13.3 km stretch features two major tunnels, a 650 metre cable stayed bridge, and a 900 metre viaduct. The project faced delays due to heavy rainfall and strong winds in the ghat section but has now reached the final phase. IRB Infrastructure Trust has secured a toll-operate-transfer (TOT) highway project in Odisha for an upfront consideration of INR 3,087 crore, marking its entry into the state's road infrastructure sector. The project forms part of the national highway asset monetisation programme and covers a key stretch of the Chandikhole Bhadrak corridor on NH-26. The award strengthens IRB's growing toll-road portfolio and is expected to significantly enhance future revenue visibility. With this addition, the trust continues to scale its asset base and reinforce its position as India's largest private toll-road developer. The government has announced plans for a 7 kilometre twin tube tunnel connecting Chaumasi in Kalimath Valley to Sonprayag, aimed at improving access and safety for Kedarnath pilgrims. Alongside this, a feasibility study is being conducted for a pedestrian tunnel and walkway to facilitate direct shrine access. Road widening from one lane to two lanes is also planned to handle growing traffic. The Prime Minister is directly monitoring 15 high-priority infrastructure projects in Jammu and Kashmir with a combined investment of INR 1.12 lakh crore through the PRAGATI platform. Overall, 61 projects worth INR 4.12 lakh crore are under review, covering transport, power, healthcare and digital infrastructure. While 15 projects have already been completed, the remaining ones are at different stages of execution. Most implementation issues, including land acquisition and statutory approvals, have been resolved, enabling smoother progress and closer coordination between the Centre and the Union Territory administration.Read more

Deendayal Port Authority has opened bidding for the development and operation of two cargo berths at Kandla under a 30-year Public-Private Partnership (PPP). Singapore's Changi Airport recorded its highest-ever passenger traffic in 2025, handling around 70 million travellers during the year.
