The ongoing redevelopment of Tilak Bridge in Mumbai's Dadar area has caused major traffic congestion, frustrating thousands of daily commuters. As the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) carries out the phased construction of a new parallel bridge, the existing structure remains a bottleneck. Local residents and transport experts say the situation has worsened due to encroachments, narrow lanes, and poor planning. With Phase 1 now underway, the old bridge will be demolished only after the new one is operational. The complete project is expected to finish by 2026. Adani Airport Holdings recently announced the termination of its ground handling concession agreements with Turkish firm Celebi at the Mumbai and Ahmedabad airports. The move followed the Union government's decision to revoke security clearance for Celebi, prompting Adani to direct the firm to immediately transfer all ground handling facilities to ensure uninterrupted operations. Adani confirmed that all existing Celebi employees at these airports would be transferred to the new ground handling agencies under their current terms of employment. The company emphasised its commitment to maintaining seamless services across its airports, which include Mangalore, Guwahati, Jaipur, Lucknow, and Thiruvananthapuram.Read more

The Uttar Pradesh government has unveiled a comprehensive blueprint to establish 12 state-of-the-art e-way hubs along the Purvanchal and Bundelkhand Expressways, as outlined in a recent official statement. The Uttar Pradesh Expressway Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) has proposed an investment of INR 425.43 crore, with eight hubs planned along the Purvanchal Expressway and four on the Bundelkhand Expressway. These e-way hubs will feature world-class passenger amenities, including air-conditioned facilities, sensor-based sanitaryware, and accessible infrastructure for people with disabilities. Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis inaugurated two major road-over-bridges (ROBs) on May 14 - a 273-crore cable-stayed Reay Road ROB in Mumbai and another in Titwala. These projects are designed to improve east-west connectivity and ease traffic congestion in high-density suburban areas. The Reay Road ROB is the first cable-stayed overbridge in suburban Mumbai, while the Titwala bridge connects Ambivli to Kalyan and serves over 25,000 daily rail passengers. The Noida Authority is set to unveil two major infrastructure projects: the Bhangel Elevated Road and its new administrative headquarters in Sector 96. The Union Minister for Power, Shri Manohar Lal Khattar, recently stated that the Centre has urged state governments to examine the feasibility of setting up nuclear power plants in their respective areas and submit proposals. This was discussed during a review meeting with Goa's Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and other state officials, where the future energy needs of the state were also addressed. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has sanctioned a project valued at INR 62 crore to construct a state-of-the-art tunnel aquarium at the Veermata Jijabai Bhosale Udyan and Zoo in Byculla. The contract has been awarded to M/S Marine Aqua Zoo, known for its expertise in marine-themed projects. The 14,000 sq ft structure will feature a walk-through tunnel and multiple thematic tanks, showcasing over 200 marine species. The Adani Group has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bhutan's Druk Green Power Corporation (DGPC) to jointly develop hydropower projects totalling 5,000 MW in the neighbouring country. The agreement was signed in Thimphu by senior officials from both entities in the presence of Bhutanese Prime Minister Dasho Tshering Tobgay and other dignitaries. This partnership builds on the existing Wangchhu Hydropower Project, where DGPC holds a majority 51 per cent stake and Adani owns 49 per cent. The initiative will encompass additional hydropower and pumped storage projects to be implemented in phases.Read more
