Synopsis

Adani Airport Holdings recently announced the termination of its ground handling concession agreements with Turkish firm Celebi at the Mumbai and Ahmedabad airports. The move followed the Union government's decision to revoke security clearance for Celebi, prompting Adani to direct the firm to immediately transfer all ground handling facilities to ensure uninterrupted operations. Adani confirmed that all existing Celebi employees at these airports would be transferred to the new ground handling agencies under their current terms of employment. The company emphasised its commitment to maintaining seamless services across its airports, which include Mangalore, Guwahati, Jaipur, Lucknow, and Thiruvananthapuram.

Following the Union government's revocation of Celebi's security clearance, Adani Airport Holdings has terminated its ground handling concession agreements with the Turkish company for the Ahmedabad and Mumbai airports. The announcement was made last week, with Adani directing Celebi to immediately hand over all ground handling facilities to ensure uninterrupted airport operations.

Adani Airport Holdings, which owns and operates airports in Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Mangalore, Guwahati, Jaipur, Lucknow, and Thiruvananthapuram, stated that the decision was taken to safeguard operational integrity and security standards. A spokesperson for the company stated that after the government's revocation of Celebi's security clearance, the firm had been instructed to immediately transfer all ground handling facilities at Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) and Ahmedabad's Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (SVPIA).

The company further assured that it would maintain uninterrupted services through newly appointed ground handling agencies. Additionally, Adani confirmed that all existing Celebi employees at CSMIA and SVPIA would be transferred to the new ground handling service providers under their current employment terms.

Adani Airport Holdings emphasised that ground handling operations at its airports would remain unaffected, reiterating its commitment to maintaining the highest standards of service and aligning with national security interests.

With the immediate transfer of facilities and personnel to new service providers, the company has taken swift action to mitigate any potential service disruptions. The move underscores Adani's broader strategy to align its airport operations with stringent security protocols, reinforcing its focus on maintaining seamless services across its network of airports.
