Radisson Hotel Group is expanding its presence in India's rapidly evolving spiritual tourism circuit with new hotel openings planned in Shirdi, Puri, Indore and Ujjain. The expansion reflects a strategic focus on emerging pilgrimage destinations that are witnessing rising domestic travel demand, supported by infrastructure upgrades and government-led faith tourism initiatives. Religious tourism remains a key driver of India's hospitality sector, with the Ministry of Tourism estimating over 1,439 million religious visits in 2022, generating revenue of around INR 1.34 trillion. Cities such as Ujjain, which attracted more than 52.8 million visitors in 2023, along with Puri, Shirdi and Indore, continue to record steady footfalls. Radisson's move positions it early in markets where demand is expected to deepen, creating long-term opportunities for organised hospitality growth.Read more

Leasing of retail space across India's top seven cities rose sharply in 2025, supported by fresh supply and robust demand from retailers, according to JLL India. Gross leasing volumes touched a three-year high, driven equally by shopping malls and high streets, with Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Mumbai emerging as the largest contributors. The addition of new, institutional-grade retail space encouraged accelerated store expansion, particularly among domestic brands, while global brands also increased their footprint. The year saw the launch of multiple new malls, lifting overall mall inventory across major cities. Industry experts noted that experiential retail, food and beverage formats, and renewed consumer confidence are reinforcing the relevance of physical retail. The trend has resulted in improved occupancies, healthier cash flows and greater confidence among developers and investors in upgrading and reinvesting in retail assets.Read more

IndiGo, operated by InterGlobe Aviation, reported a net profit of INR 549 crore for the December quarter, down sharply from INR 2,449 crore in the same period last year. The decline reflects substantial one-time costs, including INR 577 crore due to flight disruptions in early December and INR 969 crore linked to new labour law compliance. Despite these challenges, revenue grew to INR 24,541 crore from INR 22,993 crore. Over 2,500 flights were cancelled and nearly 1,900 delayed, affecting more than 300,000 passengers. The airline's underlying performance remained stable, but exceptional costs drove the net profit drop.Read more

Hospitality chain Pride Hotels has received approval from the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) to launch its initial public offering, marking a key milestone in its capital-raising plans. Industry sources indicate that the Mumbai-based company is looking to raise around INR 1,000 crore through the public issue. Filed with Sebi in October last year, the IPO comprises a fresh issue of shares worth INR 260 crore along with an offer-for-sale of up to 3.92 crore shares by promoters and promoter group entities. The company may also undertake a pre-IPO placement of up to INR 52 crore, which would proportionately reduce the fresh issue size. Proceeds from the issue are expected to be used for renovating existing hotels, repaying debt and meeting general corporate requirements, as Pride Hotels looks to strengthen its portfolio and accelerate expansion across key Indian cities.Read more
