Uber is set to double its Uber Black fleet in India by 2026 to meet rising demand for premium ride-hailing services. Operating in Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru, the service provides luxury vehicles with top-rated drivers, dedicated airport pickup zones, and advanced booking options. Uber has invested in Carrum, a fleet management partner, to scale operations and vehicle supply. The Reserve feature and Uber One membership programme, with over one million Indian subscribers, further support premium mobility adoption. This expansion highlights India's growing preference for comfort and reliability in urban transportation.
Uber is expanding its premium mobility services in India with a plan to double its Uber Black fleet by 2026. The service is designed for riders who prioritise comfort, service quality, and reliability. Currently, Uber Black operates in Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru, offering access to premium vehicles driven by top-rated drivers.
The service has also enhanced airport experiences by establishing dedicated Uber Black Zones at Bengaluru's Kempegowda International Airport (Terminals 1 and 2) and Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (Terminal 2, P6). These zones allow for faster and smoother pickups for premium travellers.
To support the expansion, Uber made a Series A investment in Carrum, a fleet management company backed by the CarDekho Group and an existing partner. This investment will enable Carrum to scale vehicle supply and operations, ensuring Uber Black can meet growing demand in key cities.
Uber has introduced the Reserve feature in Delhi, which allows riders to pre-book premium rides from two hours to 90 days in advance. This feature is intended to provide assured availability for business trips, airport transfers, and planned travel.
The company also continues to see strong engagement with its Uber One membership programme, which now has over one million subscribers in India. The programme offers benefits across multiple mobility options, including bikes, autos, and cars, making premium travel more accessible and rewarding.
According to Uber India and South Asia President Prabhjeet Singh, demand for premium mobility is growing steadily, driven by riders who value comfort and elevated service standards. This expansion positions Uber to better cater to urban transportation needs and reflects broader trends in India's ride-hailing market, where passengers increasingly prefer reliable and high-quality mobility options.
