The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has allotted 549 developed residential plots to farmers and landowners who contributed land under the land pooling policy for the IT City project along Sultanpur Road in Lucknow. The allotment was conducted through a lottery draw held earlier this week at the Indira Gandhi Pratishthan. The plots, located across sectors 15, 16, 17, 18 and 30 of the planned township, were distributed in six size categories ranging from 35 sq m to 288 sq m. Around 350 landowners had pooled approximately 550 acres of land for the project, which is being developed over about 3,490 acres across villages in Mohanlalganj tehsil. The Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (UP-RERA) has imposed penalties totalling more than INR 2.43 crore on two Lucknow-based real estate promoters for failing to upload mandatory quarterly progress reports (QPRs) on the regulator's online portal. The action relates to the Arpita Infinity and Ganpati Smart City projects, both of which did not update required project information despite repeated notices from the authority. Under the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016 and the state RERA rules, promoters must submit quarterly updates on project progress, approvals, bookings and construction status within a stipulated timeframe. The Lucknow Metro has introduced a QR code-based ticketing system that allows commuters to book metro tickets through a mobile app and at stations, aiming to simplify travel and reduce queues. Launched at Hazratganj Metro Station by the Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) Managing Director, the system enables passengers to book tickets via the official Lucknow Metro Official mobile application on Android and iOS, or obtain printed QR tickets at ticket vending machines (TVMs) and counters across all stations. Once booked, tickets can be scanned at Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) gates marked with yellow strips for entry and exit.
