The initiative forms part of the states strategy to attract technology, business and service sector investments to the region, and will be overseen by relevant departments with transparency measures in place to ensure fairness in the allotment process. The Uttar Pradesh government has scheduled a lottery draw for 28 February to allot commercial and technology sector plots in the upcoming Lucknow IT City, officials said.
The lottery will determine successful applicants from among those who submitted expressions of interest for development parcels within the IT City, which is proposed as an integrated technology and business hub along the Agra?Lucknow Expressway corridor. The authorities said applications were received under two broad categories: plots for IT/ITeS and allied services and those for commercial and hospitality uses, reflecting the mixed-use intent of the precinct.
Plot sizes slated for allotment under the draw vary, with the smallest parcel measuring 2,487 square metres and the largest spanning 4,163 square metres. The government?s real estate and infrastructure planning departments will oversee the lottery to ensure a transparent selection process. Details on total applications received and the final number of plots included in the draw will be disclosed once the drawing is completed.
The Lucknow IT City project is part of the state?s broader initiative to expand its footprint in technology, services and business infrastructure, leveraging connectivity advantages provided by the expressway and proximity to existing urban growth centres. By offering development plots on transparent terms and through a lottery system, the authorities aim to attract a mix of technology firms, service sector investors and hospitality operators to establish operations in the region.
Successful applicants will be notified after the lottery and will be required to complete formalities as per the allotment conditions set out by the government. Further details on allotment criteria, payment terms and development obligations are expected to be shared by the relevant departments following the draw.
