The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) carried out a decisive anti-encroachment drive in the Turbhe division, targeting newly erected illegal structures on open land in Sanpada. Acting on the directions of Municipal Commissioner Dr. Kailas Shinde, the demolition was undertaken to curb unauthorized development and protect public land. The operation resulted in the removal of around eight illegal hutments and was executed with adequate manpower, machinery and police support to ensure smooth implementation. The Gujarat High Court has ordered a halt to construction of a 10 storey residential building in Vadodara's Alka Cooperative Housing Society due to the absence of a mandatory No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the society.
