Indore's Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport is finally advancing its long-delayed expansion with the acquisition of 20.48 acres of land situated below Bijasan Tekri. The move comes after a seven-year pause due to road connectivity issues linked to the Maa Bijasan Temple. A new alignment plan involving the Super Corridor and an alternate access route has cleared the way for development. West Bengal Chief Minister Smt Mamata Banerjee has inaugurated Kolkata's longest skywalk, a INR 77 crore project connecting Kalighat Temple to Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Road. Spanning 400 metres, the skywalk is designed to serve up to 60,000 pedestrians daily, reducing congestion near the iconic temple. Built by the Kolkata Municipal Corporation, the structure includes 12 escalators, 4 staircases, and 2 lifts, along with CCTV and firefighting systems. Despite early legal and political hurdles, the project was completed after a two-year delay. Construction work has finally resumed on the Amaravati capital city project in Andhra Pradesh after a five-year hiatus. Estimated to cost INR 65,000 crore, the project envisions a world-class urban centre designed by UK-based Foster and Partners. In a bid to strengthen Haryana's industrial growth, a large Industrial Manufacturing Cluster (IMC) will be developed near Maharaja Agrasen Airport in Hisar, spanning approximately 3,000 acres. The project, with an estimated cost of INR 4,680 crore, will be developed jointly by the Haryana government and the National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (NICDC). This IMC, the largest under the Amritsar-Kolkata Industrial Corridor, is expected to attract investments of around INR 32,000 crore and create over 10,000 jobs. The INR 1,070 crore Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Memorial at Indu Mill, Dadar, is progressing steadily with over 52% of the pedestal structure completed.
