In a bid to strengthen Haryana's industrial growth, a large Industrial Manufacturing Cluster (IMC) will be developed near Maharaja Agrasen Airport in Hisar, spanning approximately 3,000 acres. The project, with an estimated cost of INR 4,680 crore, will be developed jointly by the Haryana government and the National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (NICDC). This IMC, the largest under the Amritsar-Kolkata Industrial Corridor, is expected to attract investments of around INR 32,000 crore and create over 10,000 jobs. It will feature modern infrastructure, including roads, water treatment, and waste management plants. The project is poised to enhance Haryana's economic landscape significantly.
To accelerate industrial growth in Haryana, the state government, in collaboration with the National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (NICDC), plans to establish a large-scale Industrial Manufacturing Cluster (IMC) near Maharaja Agrasen Airport in Hisar. Spanning approximately 3,000 acres, this project carries an estimated cost of INR 4,680 crore. The development is expected to provide a significant boost to Haryana's industrial landscape and create a favourable environment for business growth.
The IMC will be developed in two phases and will be the largest of its kind under the Amritsar-Kolkata Industrial Corridor, which is designed to promote manufacturing growth through multi-modal connectivity and planned urbanisation. During a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, it was highlighted that the central government, in partnership with state authorities, is spearheading the creation of industrial corridors to facilitate these objectives.
The cluster is projected to attract investments of around INR 32,000 crore and generate more than 10,000 employment opportunities. It will be equipped with cutting-edge infrastructure, including essential facilities like roads, a water treatment plant, and a solid waste management plant (STP). A memorandum of understanding (MoU) between NICDC and the Haryana government will be signed shortly to formalise the project's execution.
Chief Minister Saini expressed confidence that the IMC would attract investments from both Indian and international companies, which would further solidify Haryana's position as an industrial hub. Out of the 7,200 acres demarcated in Hisar, about 4,212 acres are currently occupied by the airport, with the IMC set to occupy roughly 2,988 acres. The cluster's proximity to the airport is expected to provide significant logistical advantages for businesses operating there.
The establishment of this IMC aligns with broader infrastructural efforts, such as the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor, which aims to create an Integrated Multi-Modal Logistics Hub in Nangal Chaudhary, Haryana, on approximately 886 acres. The simultaneous development of these industrial corridors is expected to propel Haryana's industrial growth, generating new avenues for investment and employment.
Earlier this week, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated a commercial flight from Maharaja Agrasen Airport to Ayodhya and laid the foundation stone for a new terminal building, further highlighting the region's increasing connectivity and potential for business.
The Haryana government remains committed to establishing 10 industrial model townships (IMTs) across the state, as part of its broader vision for a 'Viksit Haryana' under the national 'Viksit Bharat' mission. The chief minister has directed relevant officials to take the necessary steps to ensure the timely and efficient development of this project.
The Haryana government's commitment to developing industrial infrastructure, alongside major national initiatives like the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor, will position the state as a key player in India's manufacturing sector. The IMC and its surrounding developments will contribute significantly to Haryana's vision of becoming an industrial powerhouse.
