The Odisha government has announced plans to upgrade the Berhampur & Jeypore road into a six-lane economic corridor with an estimated investment of around INR 6,000 crore. Luminous Power Technologies is set to establish 350 MW of solar projects in Rajasthan under the PM-KUSUM initiative. The generated power will be sold to local distribution companies, producing 500 & 560 million units annually. The projects are expected to cut carbon emissions by 402,000-459,000 tonnes each year, equivalent to planting 19-22 million trees. Implementation will begin in early 2026 in a phased manner. Hindustan Construction Company Ltd (HCC), in a joint venture with Vensar Constructions Company Ltd (VCCL), has secured a INR 901 crore contract from the Northeast Frontier Railway to construct a key tunnel on the Tupul & Imphal broad gauge line. The HCC & VCCL JV, with HCC holding a 65% stake, will handle the 3.5 kilometre tunnel along with design, engineering, and commissioning, including ballast-less track, ventilation, electro-mechanical systems, approach roads, and ancillary infrastructure. This project strengthens HCC's transport-heavy order book, which accounts for over 60% of its current INR 13,152 crore portfolio.Read more

The Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) has designated five major roads along the city's East-West Metro line as Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) corridors. The areas within approximately 800 metres of metro stations are now earmarked for mixed land use, allowing residential, commercial, and industrial development under the state's newly announced TOD policy. This initiative is aimed at promoting sustainable urban growth, reducing traffic congestion, and improving connectivity. The corridors span key junctions including Veer Tejaji Circle, Pandit T.N. India's eight core infrastructure sectors grew by 1.8 per cent in November, slowing sharply from last year due to weaker output in crude oil, natural gas, refinery products and electricity. While growth improved sequentially from October's contraction, overall momentum remained subdued. During April & November, core sector growth stood at 2.4 per cent, lower than the previous year. Cement and fertiliser output showed strength, while coal and steel moderated. Economists expect industrial production growth of 3.5 & 4.5 per cent for the month.Read more

KEC International has received interim relief from the Delhi High Court, which has allowed the company to participate in ongoing project bids, including those floated by Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. The court kept PGCIL's earlier order barring KEC from tenders in abeyance and directed the utility to issue a fresh decision after considering the company's response to a show cause notice. The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) is moving ahead with a 110 MW solar power plant in Uttar Pradesh to supply clean energy to the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Namo Bharat rapid rail corridor. Awarded to NLC India Limited, the plant is expected to be completed within about two years and will cover nearly 60 percent of the corridor's electricity requirements. Vietnam has begun initial construction work on a cross-border railway linking the country with China as part of its wider infrastructure expansion plan. The 391-kilometre rail line will run from Lao Cai at the Chinese border through Hanoi to Haiphong port. Track laying is scheduled to begin late next year, with completion targeted for 2030. Indian Railways has identified 2,670 road-under-bridges (RUBs) vulnerable to waterlogging out of 14,745 subways nationwide following a zone-wise assessment. The issue was raised in Parliament after concerns over frequent flooding at subways, including those in Tirupati. Permanent preventive infrastructure has been completed at 1,351 locations, while temporary dewatering arrangements are operational at the remaining sites. The IMF has approved emergency funding of around USD 206 million for Sri Lanka under the Rapid Financing Instrument to support recovery after Cyclone Ditwah caused extensive damage. Around 40 lakh FASTag annual passes for private vehicles have been issued since the scheme was introduced a few months ago, showing strong adoption among frequent highway users. The pass allows up to 200 toll crossings annually for a fixed fee of INR 3,000, offering significant savings compared to regular toll payments. The contract was awarded by Vishnu Prakash R Punglia Ltd as part of the VPRPL-SBEL joint venture and involves extensive earthwork, bridges, road under bridges, limited height subways, station buildings, platforms, staff quarters, ballast works and other infrastructure in the Mandpiya to Chanderiya section.
