An IndiGo flight operating from Mumbai to Krabi was delayed for over three hours during the past week, triggering visible anger among passengers onboard. The airline attributed the delay to the late arrival of the incoming aircraft, air traffic congestion, and crew duty-hour limitations mandated under aviation safety rules. Frustration escalated due to limited communication, leading to heated exchanges with cabin crew. Air India has cancelled at least three flights to the United States after Iran temporarily closed its airspace amid rising tensions with the US, affecting international flight routes. Navi Mumbai International Airport has achieved a major milestone by crossing 1 lakh passengers within 19 days of starting commercial flights. Handling over 1,09,900 passengers, the airport's busiest day saw 7,345 travelers. During this period, 734 flights operated, including general aviation movements, while more than 79,000 pieces of baggage were processed. Cargo operations began simultaneously, with 22.21 tonnes handled. Delhi, Goa, and Bengaluru emerged as the top destinations. IHCL has acquired a 51 per cent stake in Brij Hospitality for INR 193 crore, taking ownership of the boutique leisure brand Brij. The acquisition adds 11 operational hotels and 11 in development, totaling around 295-300 keys. Brij Hotels operates 22 properties and is known for personalized, culturally immersive experiences in offbeat locations such as Jaipur, Varanasi, Ranthambore, the northeast, and Goa. Akasa Air has become a member of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) after completing the mandatory IATA Operational Safety Audit, a key global benchmark for airline operations and safety.
