US-headquartered industrial technology company Octave Intelligence has inaugurated its Technology and Innovation Centre in Hyderabad, establishing a new engineering hub that is expected to play a significant role in the company's global technology and product development operations. 
The new facility is located in HITEC City and spans approximately 2 lakh sq ft. The centre has been designed to support a wide range of advanced technology functions, including software engineering, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, data capabilities and product development for customers across international markets. 
Octave has announced plans to scale the Hyderabad centre to 2,000 engineers over the coming years, positioning it as one of the company's major technology bases outside its headquarters. The expansion is expected to strengthen its research, engineering and innovation capabilities while supporting the development of industrial software solutions used by global enterprises. 
The facility was inaugurated by Telangana IT Minister D Sridhar Babu alongside Octave Chief Executive Officer Mattias Stenberg, Vice President for Product and Services Sekhar Konidena and other senior company leaders. 
Apart from office space spread across multiple floors, the centre includes an Experience Centre where the company will demonstrate its connected intelligence solutions and technology platforms. The facility is intended to function as both an engineering workplace and a showcase for products developed by its teams. 
The Hyderabad centre will contribute to Octave's work in industrial software, which combines engineering expertise, data analytics and artificial intelligence to help organisations manage complex industrial assets and operations more efficiently. The company serves sectors where digital technologies are increasingly being integrated into infrastructure, manufacturing and industrial processes. 
The announcement also reflects Hyderabad's continuing emergence as a preferred destination for global capability centres (GCCs). Speaking at the inauguration, the Telangana IT Minister said the city has increasingly become the first choice for companies establishing their first GCC in India. 
The state government has been actively promoting Hyderabad as a technology investment destination, with recent years witnessing expansion across software development, engineering services, financial technology, healthcare technology and industrial innovation. The growing diversity of GCC operations has broadened the city's role beyond traditional IT outsourcing into higher-value engineering and research functions. 
For Octave, Hyderabad offers access to a large engineering talent pool and an established technology ecosystem that can support long-term expansion. The planned workforce growth indicates that the centre is expected to become an integral part of the company's global innovation network rather than serving only regional operations. 
The investment also highlights a broader trend in industrial technology, where companies are building specialised engineering centres to accelerate product development in artificial intelligence, cloud infrastructure and data-driven software. Such facilities increasingly combine software engineering with domain expertise in industries such as utilities, energy, manufacturing and critical infrastructure. 
For Telangana, the new centre adds another international technology investment to Hyderabad's expanding GCC ecosystem. The planned recruitment of 2,000 engineers could contribute to employment generation while reinforcing the city's reputation as a hub for advanced technology development.
