NICMAR University, Pune, is hosting the 10th International Conference on Construction, Real Estate, Infrastructure and Project Management (ICCRIP 2026) at its Baner campus. The two-day conference brings together industry leaders, academicians, researchers, practitioners and other experts to discuss issues shaping India’s built environment. The first day focused on sustainable urban development, institutional capacity and effective project delivery, with discussions highlighting the need to connect policy with execution and strengthen collaboration between academia, industry and policymakers. The conference also includes research papers, case studies, a doctoral colloquium, hackathon, workshops and industry-focused sessions.
NICMAR University, Pune, is hosting the 10th International Conference on Construction, Real Estate, Infrastructure and Project Management (ICCRIP 2026) at its campus in Baner, Pune. The conference, being held on August 21-22, brings together senior industry leaders, academicians, practitioners, researchers and experts to discuss issues affecting India’s built environment.
The first day focused on sustainable urban development, institutional capacity and effective project delivery as India deals with the growing scale and complexity of its infrastructure and urbanisation requirements.
NICMAR University Pune President and Chief Patron of ICCRIP 2026, Dr Vijay Gupchup, said the pace of expansion in Indian cities and infrastructure requires new approaches to planning, construction and project delivery. He said sustainable development would require skilled professionals, stronger institutional capacity and closer collaboration between academia, industry and policymakers.
A key session on the first day was a panel discussion on building sustainable cities by bridging policy, capacity and project delivery. Industry and academic experts discussed the gap between policy and its implementation on the ground, along with the need to strengthen professional capabilities and improve coordination between key stakeholders.
The inaugural session was attended by Jayanta Basu, Managing Director, Cemindia Projects Limited, as Chief Guest, and Don Ward, Chief Executive, CIB, UK, as Guest of Honour. It was also attended by NICMAR University Vice Chancellor Dr Anil L Agarwal, Dean-R&D and Conference Convener Dr Rajni Kant Rajhans, Director General and Conference Mentor Dr Tapash Kumar Ganguli, along with industry representatives, faculty members, researchers and students.
Discussions during the conference also covered the changing requirements of project delivery as infrastructure and urban development projects become more complex. Speakers highlighted the need for multidisciplinary skills, sustainability across the project lifecycle, stronger industry-academia knowledge exchange and professionals equipped to meet changing requirements in the built environment.
The conference featured keynote addresses, technical sessions and practitioner-led discussions, allowing participants to exchange views on emerging practices, research and challenges across construction, real estate, infrastructure and project management.
The second and final day will continue with technical sessions, expert discussions and knowledge-sharing engagements focused on emerging priorities across the built environment and connecting research with practical applications.
ICCRIP 2026 includes seven key segments covering research papers, case studies, practitioners’ perspectives, a doctoral colloquium, hackathon, paper development workshop and editors’ conclave, along with an industry showcase. The conference is in its 10th edition and continues NICMAR University’s focus on interaction between academia and industry.
Established in 1983, NICMAR is an autonomous, non-governmental and not-for-profit institution focused on education in construction, real estate, infrastructure and project management. The institution has campuses in Pune, Hyderabad, Delhi-NCR and Mumbai and is supported by leading construction companies.
