Orris Infrastructure managing director Amit Gupta has been arrested by Mumbai Police in connection with a case filed by Godrej Properties over alleged forgery, cheating, criminal breach of trust and criminal conspiracy. The case relates to the Godrej Air project in Sector 85, Gurugram, where Godrej Properties and Orris Infrastructure were partners. Police arrested Gupta in Amritsar and he has been remanded to police custody until August 27. The complaint alleges that statutory records of the project’s LLP were changed without authorisation and that Godrej Properties’ 37.5% interest in the partnership was allegedly transferred.
Orris Infrastructure Pvt Ltd managing director Amit Gupta has been arrested by Mumbai Police following a complaint by Godrej Properties Ltd in a case involving alleged forgery, cheating, criminal breach of trust and criminal conspiracy. The matter concerns the Godrej Air project in Sector 85, Gurugram, which was being developed through a partnership between Godrej Properties and Orris Infrastructure.
According to officials, Gupta was arrested in Amritsar in connection with FIR No. 0183/2026 registered at Vikhroli police station in Mumbai. He was subsequently remanded to police custody until August 27. The FIR was registered after Godrej Properties raised allegations regarding changes made to the statutory records of the project’s limited liability partnership.
The complaint alleges that unauthorised changes were made to the LLP records filed with the Registrar of Companies using false documents. It refers to a Form-3 allegedly filed with the ROC in January, through which Godrej Properties’ nominated partner was allegedly removed from the records without authorisation. Another individual was shown as a partner, according to the complaint. Godrej Properties has also questioned the alleged transfer of its 37.5% interest in the LLP.
The FIR invokes provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita relating to forgery, cheating, criminal breach of trust, use of forged documents and criminal conspiracy. The allegations are under investigation and do not by themselves establish guilt.
The arrest has also brought attention to the long-standing difficulties faced by homebuyers in Orris Infrastructure’s Greenopolis project in Gurugram. Around 1,650 homebuyers have been waiting for possession for years. Buyers have alleged that many families had paid a substantial portion of the sale consideration before construction was halted, leaving them without possession while they continue to meet their financial commitments.
Orris Infrastructure is based in Gurugram and has its corporate office in DLF Phase 2. The company had not issued an immediate comment on Gupta’s arrest. A senior Gurugram police officer also said authorities were seeking Gupta’s arrest in a separate case registered at Kherki Daula police station over a land collaboration dispute.
The latest case follows earlier regulatory scrutiny of Orris Infrastructure and its directors. The Enforcement Directorate had conducted searches against Orris Infrastructure, its directors and related entities in November 2024 as part of an investigation into an alleged real estate fraud involving more than INR 500 crore. The ED said the investigation originated from FIRs filed by the Economic Offences Wing in New Delhi following complaints from homebuyers and investors.
A separate case was also registered by Gurugram Police in July in connection with a land collaboration agreement involving agricultural land in Badha village near Manesar. The complaint named Orris Infrastructure, its directors Amit Gupta and Vijay Gupta, and an authorised signatory, alleging cheating and criminal conspiracy in relation to the land arrangement.
