The company, which already operates across 14 Indian cities, has committed investments of up to INR 4,500 crore at Noida International Airport and is planning multimodal transhipment centres across major metropolitan cities. SATS Gateway Services for Asia Pacific CEO Bob Chi said the company remains positive about India’s economic growth and wants to contribute to the country’s developing transhipment network by improving links between airports and major ports.

Singapore-based SATS Ltd is looking to build integrated logistics and multimodal facilities in India as it sees continued growth opportunities in the country’s manufacturing and wider economy.
Bob Chi, CEO of SATS Ltd’s Gateway Services for Asia Pacific, said the company is positive about India’s economic outlook and wants to participate in the development of the country’s logistics infrastructure. Gateway Services for Asia Pacific operates SATS’ ground handling and in-flight catering businesses.
SATS currently has operations in 14 Indian cities and has committed investments of up to INR 4,500 crore at Noida International Airport. The investment is part of the company’s broader plans to develop an airport logistics hub in India, alongside proposed multimodal transhipment centres across major metropolitan cities.
The company has also established a 37-year concession-based logistics hub at the newly inaugurated Jewar International Airport in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The facility is expected to form part of SATS’ wider logistics network in the country.
Chi said SATS is interested in developing world-class integrated logistics and multimodal facilities that can support manufacturing as well as other businesses operating across the Indian economy.
The company is also looking to become part of the transhipment network being developed in India. Chi said SATS wants to strengthen connections between airports and major ports and participate in logistics infrastructure being developed in locations such as Kolkata and Chennai, where major port development is underway.
SATS has also signed several new memoranda of understanding to explore additional business opportunities in India. Chi said the company sees opportunities arising from the diversification of businesses in the country and remains confident about the investment potential.
The company is also seeking to strengthen public-private partnerships for infrastructure development. Chi said closer cooperation between the government and private industry can help build large-scale infrastructure and improve the efficiency of India’s logistics network.
