Synopsis

Patna Police have arrested builder Bhushan Singh in connection with five alleged cheating cases involving property transactions worth more than INR 5 crore. Singh, associated with Green Housing Society, is accused of accepting payments from multiple people after promising to provide land but allegedly failing to complete the transactions or return the money. The cases were registered at Shri Krishnapuri police station following separate complaints. Police said Singh had been asked several times to join the investigation but did not cooperate, leading investigators to obtain an arrest warrant from the court.

Patna Police have arrested builder Bhushan Singh in connection with multiple alleged property fraud cases in which buyers claim they paid money for land but did not receive the promised properties or refunds. Police said five cases have been registered against Singh at the Shri Krishnapuri police station, with the combined amount involved exceeding INR 5 crore.
Singh, who is associated with Green Housing Society, operates in the real estate sector and has been accused of collecting payments from several individuals for land transactions that allegedly remained incomplete. According to police, complaints from different people formed the basis of the five first information reports currently being investigated.
The allegations centre on transactions in which prospective buyers reportedly made payments after being assured that plots would be provided. The complainants have alleged that the promised land was subsequently not handed over and that attempts to recover the money did not result in refunds. Police are examining the individual complaints as part of the broader investigation into Singh's property dealings.
Police said Singh had been asked on several occasions to participate in the investigation. Investigators reportedly issued multiple notices directing him to appear and provide his cooperation, but he allegedly failed to respond or join the proceedings. Following his continued absence, the investigating agency approached the court and obtained an arrest warrant, on the basis of which Singh was taken into custody.
The arrest subsequently drew people associated with Singh to the Shri Krishnapuri police station. His supporters and lawyers reportedly reached the station seeking his release. Police maintained that the arrest had been carried out under the authority of the court-issued warrant and in accordance with legal procedure. Singh's associates, however, questioned whether the investigation notices had been properly served. Police rejected the allegation and maintained that repeated notices had been issued.
The investigation is also examining Singh's business activities outside Patna. Police said he had expanded his real estate and commercial operations to Muzaffarpur, where he established a showroom and other ventures. Investigators are expected to examine whether these activities have any connection with the transactions under scrutiny.
Police are continuing to collect documents and examine the allegations made by the complainants. The investigation will also seek to establish whether additional people may have been affected by similar transactions. Authorities have indicated that further action will depend on the evidence gathered during the probe.
The case has brought renewed attention to the risks associated with property transactions involving substantial advance payments. While the allegations against Singh remain subject to investigation and judicial proceedings, the police inquiry will determine the nature and extent of the alleged financial transactions and whether other individuals were involved.
Singh's arrest marks the latest step in the investigation, with police continuing to assess the complaints and financial dealings connected to the cases. Any further arrests or legal action will depend on the findings emerging from the ongoing probe.
