Synopsis

The Andhra Pradesh government has appointed KPMG Advisory Services Pvt Ltd as the strategic support agency and knowledge partner to prepare the Economic Development Plan for the Tirupati Economic Region (TER). The project has been approved at a cost of around INR 3.54 crore after KPMG emerged as the highest-ranked bidder in the e-tender process. The initiative is part of the state's broader strategy to drive balanced regional development by dividing Andhra Pradesh into three economic regions Visakhapatnam, Tirupati and Amaravati with dedicated development plans for each region.

The Andhra Pradesh government has selected KPMG Advisory Services Pvt Ltd as the strategic support agency and knowledge partner to prepare the Economic Development Plan for the Tirupati Economic Region (TER). The appointment has been approved at a project cost of nearly INR 3.54 crore, according to a government order issued in the past week. 
KPMG emerged as the highest-ranked (H1) bidder in the e-tender process conducted to appoint a strategic support agency and knowledge partner for preparing the economic development plan for the Tirupati Economic Region. The selection followed the evaluation of bids submitted under the tender process. 
According to the government order issued by Peeyush Kumar, Principal Secretary, Planning Department, the state government granted administrative sanction for engaging KPMG Advisory Services Pvt Ltd to prepare the Economic Development Plan for TER at an approved project cost of INR 3.54 crore. 
The Economic Development Plan is expected to provide a long-term roadmap for the region by identifying key sectors for investment, infrastructure requirements, industrial growth opportunities and employment generation. It will also support policy formulation and guide future public and private investments in the Tirupati Economic Region. 
The appointment forms part of the Andhra Pradesh government's broader regional development strategy. The state has divided Andhra Pradesh into three economic regions the Visakhapatnam Economic Region (VER), the Tirupati Economic Region (TER) and the Amaravati Economic Region (AER) to promote balanced economic growth and enable region-specific planning. The approach aims to leverage the unique strengths of each region while improving infrastructure, industrial development and overall economic activity across the state.
