The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has announced that the deadline for submitting Enumeration Forms under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls has been extended to 17 August 2026 following directions from the Election Commission of India. The revision exercise, linked to the electoral roll qualifying date of 1 October 2026, has been underway since 30 June through Booth Level Officers (BLOs). The revised schedule also postpones electoral roll restructuring and subsequent stages of the revision process. The civic body has urged eligible voters to submit completed forms without delay, warning that failure to do so could result in their names being omitted from the draft electoral roll, requiring a fresh enrolment process through Form 6.
The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has informed citizens that the Election Commission of India has extended the deadline for submitting Enumeration Forms under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls to 17 August 2026. The revision programme, which commenced on 30 June in connection with the electoral roll qualifying date of 1 October 2026, was originally scheduled to conclude with form submissions by 8 August. Following the revised schedule issued by the Commission, voters can now submit their completed forms to the Booth Level Officer (BLO) assigned to their respective polling station until the extended deadline.
As part of the ongoing revision exercise, BLOs have been engaged in distributing, collecting and digitising Enumeration Forms since the programme began. Under the revised circular, the deadline for completing the restructuring and reorganisation of polling stations has also been extended to 17 August. Municipal Commissioner Dr Kailas Shinde has been closely monitoring the implementation of the SIR exercise across the city.
According to the updated timetable, the draft electoral roll will now be published by 24 August 2026. The period for filing claims and objections will remain open from 24 August to 23 September 2026, while notices relating to claims and objections will be processed and disposed of between 24 August and 22 October 2026. The final electoral roll is scheduled to be published on 27 October 2026.
The civic body also released the latest progress of the enumeration exercise. In the 150 Airoli Assembly constituency, Enumeration Forms have been distributed to 459,153 out of 497,380 registered voters. Of these, 223,808 completed forms have been returned to BLOs and fully digitised.
Similarly, in the 151 Belapur Assembly constituency, 410,863 Enumeration Forms have been distributed among 422,317 registered voters. A total of 218,028 completed forms have been received from electors, with the digitisation process for these submissions already completed.
NMMC stated that voters who fail to submit their Enumeration Forms before the revised deadline risk having their names excluded from the draft electoral roll. It clarified that even if an individual's or their parents' names do not appear in the 2002 electoral roll, applicants should complete only Column 3 of the Enumeration Form with their current details, sign the form and attach any one of the documents prescribed by the Election Commission before submitting it to the concerned BLO.
The municipal administration noted that electors whose names are omitted from the draft roll due to non-submission of Enumeration Forms will subsequently have to apply afresh through Form 6, along with the prescribed supporting documents, to secure inclusion in the electoral roll.
For the convenience of residents, details of the designated BLOs for each electoral roll part have been made available online for both the Airoli and Belapur Assembly constituencies. Additional District Election Officer and NMMC Additional Commissioner Sunil Pawar urged citizens to complete the submission process without waiting until the final day, emphasising that both submission and digitisation of the Enumeration Form are necessary to safeguard their constitutional right to vote.
