The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has announced that the next Lokshahi Din (Public Grievance Day) will be organised on September 7, 2026, at the municipal headquarters in CBD Belapur, in accordance with Maharashtra Government guidelines mandating the programme on the first Monday of every month.
During the Lokshahi Din held on August 3, Municipal Commissioner Dr Kailas Shinde heard a grievance related to the encroachment department in the presence of Deputy Commissioner Sanjay Shinde. The hearing formed part of the civic body's monthly public grievance redressal mechanism.
NMMC has invited citizens wishing to present grievances during the September session to submit their applications by August 21, 2026. Applications must be addressed to the Municipal Commissioner, Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation, and clearly marked "Application for Lokshahi Din" on the envelope. The applications are required to be submitted in duplicate and in the prescribed format.
The prescribed application form is available on the official NMMC website under the "Quick Links" section on the homepage. Citizens may also obtain the application form free of charge from the Public Relations Department on the third floor of the municipal headquarters building at Sector 15A, near Kille Gaothan, CBD Belapur.
The civic body has stated that grievances submitted under the programme must be personal in nature and should relate to a single subject handled by one department. Applicants are also required to have previously raised the matter with the concerned ward office or departmental authority before seeking a hearing under Lokshahi Din.
NMMC clarified that applications relating to matters pending before courts, revenue and appellate proceedings, as well as service and establishment-related issues, will not be accepted during the grievance hearing.
The corporation has further stated that applications not submitted in the prescribed format or without the required supporting documents will be rejected. Similarly, grievances that are not personal in nature or matters for which a final reply has already been issued, or is in the process of being issued, will not be considered. The civic body has advised applicants to ensure that all eligibility conditions are met before submitting their applications.
