The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) has restored connectivity to Huri village in Arunachal Pradesh by installing a 200-foot Bailey bridge after flash floods damaged the existing road infrastructure. The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) has restored access to Huri village in Arunachal Pradesh by launching a 200-foot Bailey bridge, re-establishing a critical road connection that had been disrupted by flash floods. The rapid deployment has reinstated movement along an important route serving both local communities and strategic border areas.
The existing road infrastructure had suffered extensive damage after heavy rainfall triggered flash floods, cutting off Huri and affecting the movement of people, essential supplies and emergency services. The disruption also posed logistical challenges in a region where road connectivity is crucial due to its mountainous terrain and proximity to the international border.
To restore access, BRO engineers installed a prefabricated Bailey bridge, a modular steel structure commonly used to quickly reconnect transport corridors following natural disasters or infrastructure failures. The bridge was assembled and launched within a short timeframe, allowing traffic to resume while providing a safe and reliable crossing over the damaged section.
