Haryana continued to lead all states in the growth of post-settlement State GST (SGST) collections during the first four months of FY 2026-27, according to the latest data released by the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC). The state reported strong year-on-year growth in both monthly and cumulative SGST collections, significantly outperforming the national average. It also recorded the highest growth in overall GST revenues during the month. The performance follows Haryana's leading position in SGST growth during FY 2025-26, reflecting continued improvement in tax collections and revenue mobilisation
Haryana has continued to lead all states in the growth of post-settlement State Goods and Services Tax (SGST) collections during the first four months of FY 2026-27, according to an official statement issued on Sunday.
The state had also recorded the highest growth in SGST collections among all states during FY 2025-26 and has maintained that momentum in the current financial year.
As per the latest report released by the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC), Haryana's post-settlement SGST collection for July stood at INR 5,135 crore, compared with INR 4,027 crore during the same month last year. This represents a year-on-year growth of 28 per cent, which was more than double the national average growth of 13 per cent for the month.
During the first four months of FY 2026-27, covering the April-July period, Haryana recorded post-settlement SGST collections of INR 19,680 crore, up from INR 15,055 crore in the corresponding period of the previous financial year. This marked a 31 per cent year-on-year increase, the highest among all states, and was well above the national average growth of 17 per cent.
The official statement also noted that Haryana registered the highest growth in overall GST revenues among all states during July, recording 25 per cent growth compared with the national average of 10 per cent.
According to the state government, the continued rise in SGST collections reflects Haryana's improving fiscal performance and the administration's focus on strengthening revenue mobilisation and improving tax compliance. Higher GST collections are generally considered an indicator of stronger economic activity, better compliance by taxpayers and more effective tax administration.
The latest figures further reinforce Haryana's position as one of the country's strongest-performing states in GST revenue growth, continuing the trend seen during the previous financial year.
