Synopsis

Allcargo Group has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Maritime Foundation (NMF) to promote research, knowledge creation and policy dialogue across India's maritime, logistics and supply chain sectors. The collaboration will bring together industry experts, policymakers and academic institutions to undertake joint research projects, organise conferences and workshops, and develop future-ready logistics solutions. The initiative also seeks to strengthen industry-academia engagement by supporting research scholars and contributing to India's long-term maritime and logistics development agenda.

Allcargo Group has entered into a strategic partnership with the National Maritime Foundation (NMF) through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at advancing research and knowledge creation in India's maritime, logistics and supply chain sectors. The collaboration seeks to bridge the gap between industry, academia and policymakers while supporting the country's ambition of becoming a global maritime and logistics hub.
Under the agreement, the two organisations will jointly undertake research initiatives focused on emerging challenges and opportunities across the maritime and logistics ecosystem. The partnership will facilitate collaborative studies, policy-oriented research and the development of practical solutions to improve the efficiency, resilience and competitiveness of India's logistics sector.
The collaboration also envisages organising conferences, workshops, seminars and industry dialogues that will bring together experts from government, academia and the private sector. These knowledge-sharing platforms are expected to encourage discussions on evolving trade patterns, supply chain resilience, maritime infrastructure, digital transformation and sustainability within the logistics industry.
A key component of the partnership is its focus on academic engagement. Allcargo Group and NMF plan to work with research scholars from institutions including the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Mumbai and other universities. By encouraging joint research programmes and academic participation, the initiative aims to foster innovation and develop future-ready solutions for the maritime and logistics sectors.
The National Maritime Foundation, a leading maritime think tank, has been actively involved in research related to maritime security, trade, blue economy and port-led development. Through its partnership with Allcargo Group, the organisation intends to expand research into commercial logistics, multimodal transportation and supply chain management, areas that are becoming increasingly important as India strengthens its position in global trade.
For Allcargo Group, the collaboration aligns with its broader vision of supporting knowledge-driven growth within the logistics industry. The company believes that investments in research, innovation and policy engagement are essential to building efficient logistics networks capable of supporting India's expanding economy and international trade ambitions.
The partnership reflects a growing recognition that infrastructure development alone may not be sufficient to transform India's logistics landscape. By combining industry expertise with research and policy insights, Allcargo Group and the National Maritime Foundation aim to contribute towards creating a more competitive, technology-driven and future-ready maritime and logistics ecosystem.
