Razorpay, the Bengaluru-based omnichannel payments platform for businesses, has been named in the 2026 edition of the World's Top Fintech Companies list, compiled by CNBC in partnership with Statista, marking its fourth consecutive appearance on the ranking, the company said.
The list, compiled annually, is based on company key performance indicators, desk research, and an editorial and compliance review conducted by CNBC. Of more than 3,500 companies evaluated across over 50 countries and territories, 500 were included in the final ranking. Razorpay is one of eight Indian companies featured in this year's edition and has been placed in the Payments category.
Harshil Mathur, Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of Razorpay, said the recognition reflected the company's continued innovation and product development, and pointed to India's growing role in global fintech infrastructure. He said the company remained focused on building payment infrastructure to support businesses with greater speed, intelligence and trust as artificial intelligence continued to reshape financial services.
Razorpay operates as a payments platform aimed at simplifying money movement for businesses, offering products intended to help companies manage payments and financial operations. The company serves customers across India, Malaysia and Singapore, according to the statement.
The company was established in 2014 by Shashank Kumar and Harshil Mathur, both alumni of the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee. Razorpay has been backed by a number of angel investors since its founding, according to the company's statement, though specific investor names and funding figures were not disclosed in the release.
The statement did not provide details of Razorpay's current revenue, valuation, or user base figures, nor did it specify criteria beyond the general KPI and editorial review process used by CNBC and Statista in compiling the ranking. It also did not name the other seven Indian companies featured on this year's list.
The report was distributed under an arrangement between Newsvoir and PTI, which stated it takes no editorial responsibility for the content of the release.
