Synopsis

Nexent Capital IFSC Private Limited, the GIFT City-based arm of US-based Nexent Capital Management, has received registration from the International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA) to operate as an investment banker within India’s International Financial Services Centre. Granted on July 31, 2026, under the IFSCA (Capital Market Intermediaries) Regulations, 2025, the registration allows the firm to undertake regulated investment banking activities from GIFT City. Its permitted services include IPOs, FPOs, SPAC listings, secondary listings, depository receipt issuances, debt capital market transactions and other capital market advisory mandates. The firm plans to expand its cross-border investment banking platform, focusing particularly on companies from the US and Europe seeking capital raising and listing opportunities through GIFT City.

Nexent Capital IFSC Private Limited, the GIFT City-based arm of US-based Nexent Capital Management, has received registration from the International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA) to operate as an investment banker within India’s International Financial Services Centre (IFSC), enabling it to undertake regulated cross-border capital market activities from GIFT City.
The registration was granted on July 31, 2026, under the IFSCA (Capital Market Intermediaries) Regulations, 2025. With the approval, Nexent Capital is authorised to undertake investment banking activities permitted under the regulatory framework governing capital market intermediaries operating from the IFSC.
The permitted activities include managing initial public offerings (IPOs), follow-on public offerings (FPOs), SPAC listings, secondary listings and depository receipt issuances. The registration also allows the firm to undertake debt capital market transactions and other capital market advisory mandates within GIFT City’s regulatory framework.
Abhimanyu Tyagi, director of Nexent Capital IFSC Private Limited, said the registration would allow the firm to support international companies seeking access to global capital through GIFT City. He said the development would also enable Nexent Capital to work with high-growth businesses using the capital markets ecosystem being developed at the IFSC.
The registration comes as GIFT City continues to develop its role as a venue for international capital market transactions. Nexent Capital said it plans to use the new registration to expand its cross-border investment banking platform, particularly by supporting high-growth companies from the United States and Europe seeking capital-raising and listing opportunities through GIFT City’s exchanges.
The firm currently has an active pipeline of companies operating across several high-growth sectors. These include artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data centres, quantum computing, space technology and energy.
Through its investment banking platform, Nexent Capital plans to provide end-to-end advisory services to these businesses. The proposed services will cover transaction structuring, listing readiness, transaction execution and post-listing capital markets support.
Nexent Capital is a financial services firm specialising in investment banking, financial advisory, alternative asset management and institutional equities. It operates from offices in San Francisco, California, and GIFT City, Gujarat, and provides capital market solutions to entrepreneurs, growth-stage companies and institutional clients.
The company said its operations are supported by cross-border expertise and a global network. The new IFSCA registration establishes its GIFT City arm as a regulated investment banking entity within India’s IFSC framework, allowing it to undertake the specified capital market activities from the financial centre.
The firm’s latest registration expands its ability to advise on and manage cross-border transactions from GIFT City, while its stated focus remains on companies seeking capital raising, listing and related advisory services across international markets.
