Infrastructure major Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has secured a mega order valued between INR 10,000 crore and INR 15,000 crore to establish an artificial intelligence infrastructure facility at its Chennai data centre campus. The project marks L&T’s entry into the AI Factory business and will be developed through LTN Compute and Vyoma.AI for US-based Together AI. The facility will use NVIDIA B300 GPUs and have capacity for 10,000 GPUs, supporting large-scale AI inference, fine-tuning and training workloads. Vyoma’s Chennai campus is planned as a gigawatt-scale AI infrastructure site, with Phase 1 designed for 250 MW and 150 MVA of power infrastructure readiness. The integrated facility will combine data centre infrastructure, accelerated computing, high-performance networking, storage and AI infrastructure operations.
Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has secured a mega order valued between INR 10,000 crore and INR 15,000 crore to establish what it described as India’s largest single-cluster artificial intelligence infrastructure facility at its Chennai data centre campus, marking the infrastructure major’s entry into the AI Factory business.
The project will be developed through LTN Compute, L&T’s AI infrastructure arm, and Vyoma.AI, its AI and data centre business. The facility will be built for US-based Together AI and will host an AI-native cloud platform designed to support large-scale inference, fine-tuning and training workloads.
The AI Factory will be based on NVIDIA B300 GPUs and will have a total capacity of 10,000 GPUs. L&T said the facility would combine hyperscale data centre infrastructure with accelerated computing, high-performance networking, ultra-low-latency interconnects, high-throughput parallel storage and AI infrastructure operations.
The company has not disclosed the exact value of the order. However, L&T classifies orders in the INR 10,000 crore to INR 15,000 crore range as mega orders. The project is therefore being reported within that value band rather than at a specific contract amount.
Vyoma’s Chennai data centre campus has been conceived as a gigawatt-scale AI infrastructure site. Its first phase has been designed with a capacity of 250 MW and power infrastructure readiness of 150 MVA, providing the stated infrastructure base for future expansion of AI Factory capacity.
The integrated facility will support Together AI’s AI-native cloud platform, enabling workloads involving AI model inference, fine-tuning and training. L&T said the infrastructure stack would allow customers to deploy and scale AI workloads through an integrated platform combining computing, networking, storage and operational capabilities.
S N Subrahmanyan, chairman and managing director of L&T, said artificial intelligence was becoming foundational across industries and that AI Factories would support this development. He described the deployment for Together AI as an important milestone in the company’s gigawatt AI infrastructure programme and linked the project to its objective of developing next-generation AI infrastructure in India.
Together AI co-founder and chief executive officer Vipul Ved Prakash said the global expansion of access to AI would require a large-scale infrastructure build-out and said L&T had recognised the scale of that requirement.
LTN Compute, a subsidiary of Vyoma.AI, is developing AI-ready digital infrastructure in India through hyperscale AI data centres, sovereign cloud platforms, AI Factory services, GPU-as-a-service and managed AI platforms. Its stated target customer base includes governments, enterprises, cloud providers and AI companies.
The Chennai project brings these capabilities together at a single facility, with the initial 250 MW campus phase and 10,000-GPU AI Factory providing the infrastructure for Together AI’s workloads. L&T has not disclosed the expected commissioning schedule or the project’s detailed construction timeline.
