The Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) has allotted 113 returnable plots to 42 farmers from five Amaravati villages through an e-lottery. The allotment covers farmers who recently contributed land for the development of Amaravati as well as eligible beneficiaries seeking alternative plots due to road alignment, court cases or land acquisition affecting their earlier allotments. The lottery was conducted using an online randomisation system in the presence of the beneficiaries. APCRDA officials also issued provisional allotment certificates and said GIS personnel and village surveyors would help farmers identify their allotted plots.
The Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) has allotted 113 returnable plots to farmers from Nowlur-2, Kuragallu, Nidamarru, Inavolu and Penumaka through an e-lottery conducted at its office in Rayapudi.
The allotment was made to farmers who had recently contributed their land for the development of Amaravati as the People's Capital. It also included eligible farmers who had previously received returnable plots but later sought alternative allotments because their original plots were affected by road alignment, court cases or land acquisition.
After examining the representations submitted by these farmers, the APCRDA allotted alternative plots through an e-lottery. The process was conducted in the presence of the beneficiary farmers using an online randomisation system.
Trial runs were carried out separately for residential and commercial plots before the final allotment. The trials were intended to ensure that the lottery process was transparent and that the allotments were made through the specified randomisation system.
A total of 42 farmers received 113 returnable plots through the process. Following the lottery, APCRDA Director (Lands) – Capital City, K.S. Bhagyarekha, along with other senior officials, handed over provisional allotment certificates to the beneficiaries.
Bhagyarekha advised the farmers to complete the registration process at the earliest. She also said GIS personnel and village surveyors would assist beneficiaries in identifying the exact geographical location of their allotted plots.
The programme was attended by Special Deputy Collectors G. Surya Narayana Reddy from Nowlur, P. Krishna Rao from Kuragallu, G. Bhadru from Nidamarru, K. Sudha Rani from Penumaka and K. Vijayalakshmi from Inavolu. G. Sai Srinivasa Naik, P. Padmavathi, G. Muralidhar and M. Seshi Reddy also participated in the programme.
Officials from the Planning, Lands and GIS departments were present during the allotment process. The involvement of these departments is relevant to the subsequent identification and registration of the plots, particularly where beneficiaries need assistance in locating their allotted parcels on the ground.
