The Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) has held Village Sabha meetings in Lingayapalem and Velagapudi as part of the planning process for Amaravati’s village-level road network. The meetings focused on the Amaravati Master Plan, Village Circulation Plan and Village Integration Plan, with officials explaining how existing village roads could be integrated with roads planned under Land Pooling Scheme (LPS) zones. Surveys are also being conducted to map existing road networks and connectivity. Residents shared suggestions during the consultations, which APCRDA said would be considered while finalising the plans for individual villages.
The Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) conducted Village Sabha meetings in Lingayapalem and Velagapudi, which are part of the North East Central-II Grid, as part of the ongoing planning exercise for Amaravati. The meetings were organised to discuss the Amaravati Master Plan and the proposed village-level road network with local residents.
The consultations are part of the preparation of the Village Circulation Plan and Village Integration Plan. APCRDA officials used the meetings to explain the proposed road circulation system, planned road network and the way existing village roads could be integrated with the infrastructure proposed under the Land Pooling Scheme (LPS) zones.
Special Deputy Collectors M. Seshi Reddy and B. Sai Srinivas Nayak explained the planning proposals to the villagers. They discussed the proposed integration of existing village roads with the road network planned under the LPS zones and outlined the infrastructure measures being considered to meet the future requirements of the capital region.
As part of the planning exercise, APCRDA is carrying out surveys to create a detailed picture of the existing road network in the villages and assess its connectivity. The surveys include the Village Road Circulation Pattern Survey and the LPS Road Network Survey.
The information collected through these surveys will be used in preparing village-level road plans. The exercise is intended to identify the existing road pattern and connectivity before the proposed network is finalised, allowing the planned infrastructure to be considered alongside roads that are already in use.
Villagers participated in the discussions and submitted their views and suggestions on the proposed plans. APCRDA officials said the feedback received during the Village Sabha meetings would be examined and taken into consideration while finalising the Village Circulation Plan and Village Integration Plan for each village.
The meetings are being conducted in phases across villages in the Amaravati capital region according to the schedule prepared by APCRDA. The consultations are intended to give residents an opportunity to raise local connectivity issues and provide inputs on the proposed road network before village-level plans are finalised.
Representatives from APCRDA’s Planning, Development Promotion, Social Development and Estates departments also attended the meetings. Technical experts from The Urbanizer were present as part of the planning exercise.
The village-level consultations form part of the wider planning process for Amaravati, where the proposed master plan is being translated into infrastructure and circulation plans for individual settlements. The focus on existing road networks is particularly relevant for integrating villages within the larger capital region road system while accounting for their current connectivity and future infrastructure requirements.
APCRDA has asked residents of villages across the capital region to participate in the Village Sabha meetings scheduled in their respective areas and submit suggestions and feedback on the Amaravati Master Plan, village circulation and proposed road network.
The next meetings in the schedule were planned at Uddandarayunipalem in the North East Central-I Grid at 11:00 AM and Undavalli in the North East Grid at 2:30 PM.
