The Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) held Village Sabha meetings in Undavalli and Uddandarayunipalem to discuss the Amaravati Master Plan and village-level road network planning. The consultations focused on the proposed Village Circulation Plan and Village Integration Plan, including the integration of existing village roads with roads planned under Land Pooling Scheme (LPS) zones. Officials also explained ongoing surveys to map existing road connectivity and gather information for future infrastructure planning. Residents participated in the discussions and shared suggestions, which APCRDA said would be examined before the village-level plans are finalised.
The Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) conducted Village Sabha meetings at Undavalli (North East) and Uddandarayunipalem (North East Central-I) to discuss the Amaravati Master Plan and proposed village road network planning. The meetings formed part of the preparation of the Village Circulation Plan and Village Integration Plan for villages in the capital region.
The consultations were aimed at explaining the proposed road circulation system to residents, outlining the planned road network and obtaining suggestions from villagers before the plans are finalised.
During the meetings, APCRDA officials explained the key provisions of the Amaravati Master Plan, along with the Village Circulation Plan and Village Integration Plan. Special Deputy Collectors A. G. Chinni Krishna and B. Sai Srinivas Nayak explained how existing village roads are proposed to be integrated with the road network planned in the Land Pooling Scheme (LPS) zones.
The officials also discussed village-level road planning and infrastructure requirements that would have to be addressed as development progresses in the capital region. The exercise is intended to ensure that existing village roads and the proposed network are considered together while planning future connectivity.
As part of the exercise, APCRDA is conducting surveys to map the existing road network in the villages and assess connectivity. These include the Village Road Circulation Pattern Survey and the LPS Road Network Survey. The survey findings will be used in preparing village road plans and planning infrastructure linked to the wider Amaravati development.
The road planning is also being undertaken against the background of ongoing infrastructure work in the capital region. APCRDA's official records show that infrastructure works covering roads, drains, water supply, sewerage, utility ducts, reuse waterlines, sewage treatment plants and avenue plantation have been planned for LPS layouts in villages including Krishnayapalem, Venkatapalem, Penumaka and Undavalli.
Undavalli and Uddandarayunipalem are among the villages that have been part of the Amaravati capital city development process. APCRDA's social impact assessment documents identify 1,262.23 acres in Undavalli and 612.72 acres in Uddandarayunipalem under the land assessment for the capital city development project.
Residents took part in the discussions and submitted their views and suggestions on the proposed plans. APCRDA officials said the feedback would be examined and considered while preparing the final Village Circulation Plan and Village Integration Plan for each village.
The authority is conducting the Village Sabha meetings in phases across the capital region. The meetings are intended to provide a direct channel for residents to raise issues related to existing roads, connectivity and the proposed integration of village-level infrastructure with the wider master plan.
The meetings were attended by Special Deputy Collectors M. Seshi Reddy and B. Sai Srinivas Nayak, officials from APCRDA's Planning, Development Promotion, Social Development and Estates departments, and technical experts from The Urbanizer.
The consultations are taking place as APCRDA continues work on various components of Amaravati's infrastructure framework. The authority's official portal currently lists works and planning activities related to roads and other infrastructure, including an Undavalli seed access road project and infrastructure development in LPS layouts.
APCRDA has asked residents across the capital region to participate in the Village Sabha meetings scheduled in their respective villages and provide suggestions on the Amaravati Master Plan and village road network. The next meetings were scheduled for August 12 at Venkatapalem at 11 am and Krishnayapalem at 2:30 pm. As that date falls today, these meetings are scheduled for later today.
